Talk about Courageous Women: A Study on the Heroines of Biblical History

Silver Globol
A sound scriptural study of the women God placed in his plan of salvation history. I would ignore the only bad review (so far). I believe she may have read a couple of pages only when she wrote the review - the author speaks in only 1 paragraph about orphans in Russia. The book is mostly scripture based and not much on the authors personal stories. She seemed upset because it took her so long to get it. I received mine in 3 days (not prime).

The book arrived promptly and in very good condition. I am reading it for a women’s group that only meets once a month. We have only read 3 chapters. The questions provide discussion for our group. I found it interesting in the first chapters neglected to mention Tamar, so we added her thinking she was indeed a courageous woman.

Were are doing this study as a group of 4 women. We are really enjoying it. The reading and the questions are thought provoking and it meets are expectations perfectly.

Easy to read but time consuming because referral back to read sites of the bible. Learned much I did not know never thought about how many special women are addressed in the Bible even though few compared to men. Used with a book club from my church. Would highly recommend it.

We have now completed all three of Stacy Mitch's books in this series. Courageous Love, Courageous Virtue, and now Courageous Women. While we loved them all, this was hands down the favorite. With each story (eight in all) we were struck by how relevant the message of God's salvation is for us just as it was for these women of the Old and New Testament. They are filled with faith, virtue, they are sinners, they repent and yes they have great courage. God uses them all just as He uses us today to advance His plan of Salvation. An excellent format for group bible study and much discussion. We hope that there will be more from Stacy Mitch!

The book itself in good condition but there was a lot of writing throughout so it was 'very' used. The message of the book is still there and excellent.

I read this book hoping to learn more about the lives of women in the Bible, but this study drew me much deeper. I have begun to personally relate to those ancient woman and see how their struggles and virtues are lessons very applicable to my life. Our group had some great discussions as the questions challenged us to go beyond reading and take action. I'm so glad we did this study.
I use this for my Ladies Bible Study group. We all just love it. The best part is that we don't have to necessarily follow it from front to back. We each chose a woman or two so we could take turns on leading the group. The individual women in the book are short enough that even the less bold of our group are willing to try their hand at leading and have done excellant.

The one drawback is that I wish there were a few more "naughty" women in the book. A short page or two on Jezabel, Delilah...etc., would also have been nice to study.

Overall, a great Bible Study book to use. Not so "heavy" as to scare the newcomers away.
