Talk about Edgar Cayce on the Revelation: A Study Guide for Spiritualizing Body and Mind

Zargelynd
I’m giving Edgar Cayce on the Revelation (first edition) five stars, but I really want to give it three and a half stars. (The reason for this is the flawed mindset of Cayce's spirits. I wrote about this flawed mindset in a review I gave for Edgar Cayce and the Kabbalah Edgar Cayce and the Kabbalah. But there is good information in this book. Read on.)

I like this book. I think John did a great job of portraying Cayce’s channeled messages about the true meaning on the Revelations. Having studied numerous texts on the spiritual centers, chakras, kundalini, life force energy, meditation, and spirituality, I have found this interpretation to be in line with the other teachings. I gave this portion of the book five stars.

When you read the Revelations, all of the information on spiritual centers is cleverly hidden in metaphors and symbolism. I didn’t get the symbolism when I learned about the Revelations in Catholic school. The school I went to wouldn’t even consider talking about chakras, prana, life force energy, or spirituality. We were taught that the Revelations were to be taken word for word and you were to expect the wrath of God at any moment. But when I deprogrammed myself from this fear-based religion and studied as much as I could about other religions and spirituality—including Cayce’s readings—I discovered that this book, and parts of the Bible, had a whole different meaning to it.

John also did a great job explaining Cayce’s channeled information for meditating. There are numerous types of meditation that you could follow. I liked his. I also like the chant he shared: Aaaarrrr, Eeeeeee, Ooooooohhhhhh, Mmmmmmmm. I’ve used this many times with success. I gave this part five stars.

I’ve also used the letters suggested by Cayce that correlate with each chakra. Short A-testes, Long A-Leydig gland/cells, Long E-adrenals, Long I-thymus, Long O-thyroid and parathyroid, Long U-pineal, M-pituitary. (This information is not in this book.)

There were only a few places in the first third of the book that Van Auken referred to God as a wrathful God. This is a contradiction to the same God in the book that is an all loving God. God loves me, but God can kill me at a moments notice because I sneezed the wrong way. And I’m supposed to love God and fear God’s wrath at the same time. That’s a mixed message. It’s like sending a chocolate and vanilla milkshake when you are only supposed to send a vanilla milk shake. I gave that part one star.

There is another part that is contradictory—actually there are a few more, but I’ll only list one more.

Let me preface this by saying that everything shared by spirit is not exactly correct. You have spirits who have never been to Earth or have never been in physical form giving advice to humans. That’s like someone who has never played a trumpet before telling a professional trumpet player how to play his instrument. There are way too many Monday morning quarterbacks in the spirit realm. Also, there are negative spirits who have an agenda to deceive and misguide people. That’s just a fact.

By the way, I am not blaming Cayce, either. You know what they say: Don’t shoot the messenger.

OK. On page 146, the entities coming through Cayce say that “the anti-Christ is contention, strife, fault-finding, lovers of self, lovers of praise.” According to spirit, these are bad qualities. According to the same spirits God is everything, but these spirits just found fault in a part of God and labeled these qualities of God the anti-Christ. They just found fault in God.

On page 150 they say: “Hold fast to that thou hast attained. This is the fault in the other, but don’t look upon it as fault.” Can you say, hypocrite? (I understand the message, but spirit shouldn’t have even labeled it as a fault to begin with and then backtracked.)

I actually disagree with spirit. If you don’t find fault in yourself or others, then you can never fix a mistake. If you don’t have to fix any mistakes, then there should be no karma, as these same spirits mention in another Cayce book. If there is no fault finding in self or others, then there is no responsibility. Karma wouldn’t be necessary. If you don’t find faults, you also take away an opportunity to learn.

And finally, not all learning comes from long-suffering, as suggested by spirit. To me, these spirits need to go back to school and learn simple logic. Not all learning comes from long-suffering.

I gave those small portions of the book one star.

This part is from my review of Jesus: His Words Decoded, His Mystery Teachings Revealed. It goes with this book, too.

“First off, in my opinion, the Bible that John uses as a reference for this book has been influenced by the dark side, negative aliens, the eugenic bloodlines, reptilians, greys, mantids, and the New World Order. Many of the stories in Genesis and other parts of the Bible are actually about alien contact, DNA manipulation, and were written to instill a fear-based belief system. That’s why I deprogrammed myself from Catholicism years ago. Because the Bible has been compromised, this puts John’s rationales and explanations completely into question.

“Now, I don’t fault John for all of his questionable rationale. I didn’t know about reptilians and the New World Orders when I wrote my first book, either. That’s why I gave him three stars. However, just be aware that John’s information should not be taken as gospel—no pun intended.

“Secondly, Cayce never talks about the dark alien agenda and reptilians. Since we are influenced by everything around us—whether we want to be or not---we are also influenced by the dark side. I don’t want violence, cruelty, or harm in my environment, nor do I want to harm others in any way, but I don’t get to be in control. Cayce readings only paint a partial picture of how things work in the universe. He completely left out the part about reptilians, greys, the New World Order, or anyone who is a service to self being—basically, the dark side of God.

“John has a nice writing style, and I believe he did the best he could with his limited information and experience. I give his sincerity and writing style five stars. However, as I said earlier, his conclusions in this book cannot be taken as 100% truth because he does not address the negative alien agenda that influenced the Bible. He totally missed the boat and never once mentioned that negative aliens, negative spirits, and the secret government uses dream manipulation and sleep deprivation on people to mess with their lives and create fear. According to John and Cayce, you think you are getting messages from God in your dreams, but they could just as easily be from the secret government and reptilians. I gave his lack of addressing the negative agenda one star.”

I could go on with this book review, but I recommend that you read this book and make your own decisions.

I have always had a deep belief in the readings of Edgar Cayce. This book brought a much needed realistic understanding of the Book of Revelation. I have always been very skeptical of other interpretations of Revelation since they did not give me a inward feeling of truth based on other stories and teachings in the Bible.

This book is an update on the previous Edgar Cayce books on the Revelation. I find this one far more extensive, and the illustrations used to convey the meanings of the original Bible text are excellent and thought-provoking. I wish this book was being used now by the Catholic, Christian and Protestant denominations. Instead of instantly judging the Cayce readings, they ought to be reading some of it. The book came in very good condition and I was very impressed. The only thing that was missing from this one, was the commentary by the Medical Bible study group used in the printing from the 80's.

I'm a Catholic but don't have a problem with Edgar Cayce & reincarnation. I think this is because Cayce readings really stress the traits as a Christian I believe in...kindness, forgiveness, longsufferingness! (is that a word)?! prayer etc. I try to read the Bible everyday because for me it really is soul food...nothing compares except the Mass. Cayce's books always feel like such a comfort, though. This book, to summarize, is about getting rid of our selfishness. And it explains the Revelation. I'm on my second reading because it was rather difficult the first time through. Rather dense. Very recommended.

This book is a study guide and explanation of the mystic readings of Edgar Cacye as given to him in a sleep state by his guide. The first part gives an overview of what his readings revealed chapter by chapter through the Bible book of Revelation. After the study, the actual readings with the actual reading numbers as recorded by Cayce's secretary are listed. Those who have not studied Edgar Cacye's readings may find this book confusing, and may want to begin with "The Sleeping Profit" so they gain an understand of the readings, what the numbers represent, and how Cacye was but a vessel for mystical information to be revealed to mankind in this time and age. This book is not an easy read, and will take time to absorb the teachings. What the author does, however, is combine readings and place them in an order the reader can understand in accordance with the writings of Revelation in The Bible
