Learning Styles is full of practical, helpful, and eye-opening information about the different ways kids perceive information and then use that knowledge, as well as how their behavior is often tied to their particular learning style. When we understand learning styles—imaginative, analytic, common sense, and dynamic—and adjust our teaching or parenting to those styles, we begin reaching everyone God gives us to teach.

Learning Styles - Marlene LeFever. Introduction to learning styles. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. -Romans 12:4-6a. The elderly, sun-weathered man didn’t look like the typical attendee at a Sunday school seminar

by Marlene Lefever (out of print) see newer book: Creative Teaching Methods. A learning style is the style in which we see or perceive things best, and the way in which we process what we have seen. Even so, each of us has some attributes of each. The styles combine to form a learning matrix with two distinct lines of approach. There is continuum from the concrete (how it affects people they know) to the abstract, and another from the active to the reflective.

Talk about Learning Styles

Excellent information that I have studied and taught for over 15 years. I have seen many people begin to understand how they learn most effectively. Some of them had previously experienced difficulty in learning, and a few of these individuals were discouraged about being able to learn and had become convinced they were not able to learn or function at a "normal" level." Many of these individual experienced a break-through and became excited about new possibilities. One of the "by-products" of their learning experience included increased self acceptance and new self confidence.

Great book to read about learning styles from a Christian point of view. Very insightful.

Before being introduced to Lefever's Learning Styles I did not fully understand how to structure Biblical lesson plans that would potentially reach all students and get them actively involved in learning. In time past, I had tried incorporating many different activities into the Bible lessons in hopes of getting my students more involved. In studying Lefever's book on the various learning styles, I discovered that knowing a student's learning style and my own learning style is important in order to be an effective Bible teacher. My long awaited question has been answered. Now I am better prepared for the challenge of teaching Bible lessons to students with various learning styles.

Wow, I never knew there was such a large body of scientific evidence about this! A must-read for anyone who ever thought that our intellects are fixed at birth; everyone can learn, and the more the better! I will look at the education industry in a new way now.

If you read the first few chapters you have read the book. It's time for a new edition without Amy Grant and overheads.
Good book. Helps teachers of all kinds, including parents understand that everyone learns in different ways.
