Ramsey`s

I found this book interesting on so many levels. I really enjoyed Roy's walk in faith; how he wanted to discern God's will in where he should go in his ministry, but also wanting to stay where he was comfortable, in his home town. So very human. And I loved how we were shown his everyday prayers about small things. Nice to read about a faithful man who claims to be simple, and is so humble. I liked learning a bit about bell ringing from the part of the story about Anne. I didn't know there were teams who played those bells!

It was hard to read about Della's struggles with poverty, her dissatisfaction with her marriage, etc. But how realistic - a couple will change as the years go on in a marriage, and how do you deal with new aspirations when your partner wants everything to stay the way it has always been?

And then there is Lish, who we see falling apart, and her long road to a semblance of recovery in her mental illness. The writer did a great job of showing the despair of the family and others around someone who is grappling with a mental illness, and also their devotion and determination to help her.

Of course there's a bit of romance thrown in, plus the sense of place that Beth Webb Hart is so good at. Another winner by this author - I'm planning to read more of her books.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. It took a little while to get into it, but then I was hooked. One of the first Christian novels I've read with such a strong mental illness thread. It was well done and extremely moving. I highly recommend it.

I chose five stars because after characters were revealed and began their personal life struggles and triumphs, it was difficult to stop reading when it was time to get busy.

I laughed and I cried through this book. The characters were real . Also being from Charleston it was great reading about the city.

Its colourful descriptions and attention to detail transport the reader to the South Carolinan city of Charleston and its environs, to witnesses the lives of the individual characters within the plot. Love Charleston is a very good account of reality and the situations faced by individuals in current Western society, carrying out their daily lives, facing various challenges and experiencing life's high and low points. Love Charleston highlights the great strength of human relationships, which are fundamental in our lives to give us hope through love and support. Beth Webb Hart writes thought-provoking novels, leaving the reader with a sense of gratitude for the world and the people within it.

Great book made better by being set in my favorite city! I read this first and the quickly read all the authors other books, She is a gifted writer and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of her books.

Of course when I saw this book was about Charleston I had to buy it. Love that city! The details of the city were wonderful in the book and the intertwining of the family stories were done wonderfully. I found it to be a very easy read but a very enjoyable one. I didn't want it to end.
