It is vital that managers understand some of the basic statistical concepts needed to interpret variation. This book presents statistical techniques, mostly design of experiments, with a quality perspective. The approach is practical, with mathematical details kept to a mininum. (A person can talk about quality imporvement without invoking statistical concepts only up to a point; after that, he can only be either confusing others or deluding himself). For anyone serious about industrial process or product improvement, this is an excellent source of reference; I particularly like its large number of illustrative examples.
