I needed it for a masters level class and I Aced the class, so best not to crack on the text book I'd think. It's a bit more readable than most text books and I've utilized some the concepts since. So I'd recommend it in that respect. As for just an informative read, it'd be a little tough to wade through.

This book is vwery easy to read for all project managers that want to manage successful projects: I really like its emphasis on people. When prepared my Doctoral reasearch about how to create a better environment for successful projects I read this book and it reinforced me about the central role of people in organizations, and their vital role for project success. The examples and cases studies are very good and easy to understand. This book is not only for project managers and project practitioners but also for upper managers in organizations who may discover how important is their role supporting project management in organizations for project success.

I'm currently taking the course to which this book is used as the main reading material, and I find it very interesting, and straight-to-the-point. The author's succinct way of pinpoint the major pitfalls and what the project managers need to do to circumvent them suits me well. Most students who undertaking MBA don't have any basic knowledge about PM, and this book serves as the first step to gain some useful insights of what a project is and all the basic tools that a new project manager needs to know. I highly recommend this book.
