Despite being the smallest of the bunch, Thunder Bunny discovers her true identity in the world through a courageous act and determined spirit that is appreciated by all, in a touching tale with poetic verse by the creator of Grandfather Twilight.

Thunder Bunny took this literally to mean she came from the sky, so she rode on the wind into the clouds. I bought this book for my 20 month old because I fell on love with Berger's Donkey's Dream.

Thunder Bunny took this literally to mean she came from the sky, so she rode on the wind into the clouds. My son calls rabbits "Hop hop," since he can't say rabbit yet, and now every time we see dark clouds or lightning, he points to the sky (or the cloud pictures in different books) and insists that Hop hop is in there. This book is absolutely every it as delightful and emotional as I had anticipated. Even the toddler has been saying " Tunde Bunniiiiii" since the first time I read it to her this afternoon.

Barbara Helen Berger lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Barbara Berger is extraordinary in her visual metaphor. Paintings which glow with their own life depict pearl dust flowing behind Grandfather as he walks so that one can actually believe this is how twilight occurs. Grandfather Twilight is a book that enriches our heritage of mythology and legends-one to call upon frequently- whenever the world falls apart. Barbara Berger’s paintings of Grandfather Twilight, who walks through the forest holding a pearl that becomes the moon, are soft and warm as a pillow, and her spare text is full of quietness. When old Granny says, She came out of the blue, Thunder Bunny wonders, I did?

since she was a surprise, grandma bunny said she came out of the blue. Thunder Bunny took this literally to mean she came from the sky, so she rode on the wind into the clouds.

I bought this book for my 20 month old because I fell on love with Berger's Donkey's Dream. This book is absolutely every it as delightful and emotional as I had anticipated. Even the toddler has been saying " Tunde Bunniiiiii" since the first time I read it to her this afternoon. Justbvthe first day in and I have already read the book to her at least five times. My little 6 year old nephew who was visiting loved it too. Perfect little book for Easter as the story subtly reminds me of the Easter story.
update: 6 m on the later I still tear up while reading the story and have probably read it at least 100 times by now. Whenever it Thunders and rains outside, we know its time to cuddle up and read thunder bunny. What a magical book!

I purchased this book for my 2 year old son, since he loves rabbits. This is a cute (although unconventional) story of a little bunny who faces her fears and through courage becomes more than she was.

"She was the last and the littlest one"...since she was a surprise, grandma bunny said she came out of the blue.

He absolutely loves this book. The illustrations are fantastic...simple, elegant and well done. It is quite different from Grandfather Twighlight (her other book we own), but equally as good.

I highly recommend this book. I think it's a great book to get any child's imagination working...especially for little ones ages 2-7.

I love reading this book to my 3 year old on rainy, thundery days. I read it to him when he was 2 but he is responding to it much more now that he is 3.

Beautiful, unique story. We just bought a second copy as a gift for a new baby, because our family loves it. Great, empowering story about facing fears and finding your inner strength. Lovely artwork. Suitable for any age.

We checked this book out at the local library some weeks ago, and when the time came to return it I knew we had to add a copy to my 4.5 year old daughter's library. We've both been enchanted by the story (I actually tear up by the end of it) since our first reading; it's truly magical. Highly recommend.

The story is a bit spacy and dreamy but I LOVE this book. It is sweet and the illustrations are so beautiful I could stare at them for hours. Unfortunately, my kids are not crazy about this book at all. They are 3 and 5 and tell me they don't understand.
A wonderful story! Book was in great condition.
