I know Emma Kallok and have heard and read some of her other "works of art". But this is quite an accomplishment for a 12 year old girl in middle school. The book was fresh, realistic, very funny, and extreeeeeeemely detailed. A lot of the parts I could easily relate to. I am writing books and just seeing Emma get her own book published, for the whole world to see and enjoy, is wonderful encouragement, whether she knows it or not. This has kept me going because she did it, and I know I can too. Thanks Emma- for a GREAT book beyond comparison, and your support.

When I read this, I had already read 'Walk Two Moons', 'Absoloutly Normal Chaos', and 'Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret', so I was able to recognize the plagerism almost instantly, but I am writing this review incase someone hasn't read any of those books and thinks this is a brillant work of art. Hey, I totally reaspect the fact that this 10 year old wrote-and published-a book. It's not that I don't think that's really cool, either, cause I do. If you took away all of the stuff that the author copied, I would think this book was really cute, but also, since really the whole plot is copied you'd be left with about two pages of fresh, origanal writing. Anyways, it would be stupid of me to keep blathering on about how this book is plagerism without actually saying how it is.
1.Chickabiddy Baby is the main characters nickname-hence The Diary of Chickabiddy Baby-, and Chickabiddy is the main characters nickname in Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech.
2.(This one doesn't really matter)The main characters name is Prudence, and in Walk Two Moons, Sal's(the main character) friend's sister's name is Prudence.
3.In Walk Two Moons, Sal finds mysterious notes addressed to her. In Chickabiddy Baby, so does Prudence.
4.In Absoloutly Normal Chaos (by Sharon Creech), the main character, Mary Lou, writes in a journal for a summer project for school. In Chickabiddy Baby, Prudence says "Oh, by the way, I'm only writing in the journal for a school project."
5.In Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret by Judy Blume, one of Margaret's parents is Jewish, and one Christian. Guess what? Same with Prudence! What a coincedence!!
6.Also in Are You There God?... Margaret mentions that her aunt went to a nudist colony. And so did Prudences.
WELL that's about it. And this is a fun book to read and make fun of, so don't let this review stop you from reading it, or liking it for that matter, only I didn't...

This book is okay, considering a 10-year-old wrote it who has no sense of originality. I have no problem with a 10-year-old writing a book, I think that itself is awesome but I didn't like her style of writing. This book is very much like other books that I've read like Walk Two Moons, Are you there god? It's me Margaret, and Absoulutly normal chaos. In my opinion, authors should at least have the brain abiblity to think up there own characters names and try not to make it a replecca of a different book(s). Plus, Emma wrote this book when she was ten, not having any experience to what the characters did in the book. The main character is only 11 and had some experiences 14 year olds may not have had yet. Not very realistic.For sure NOT one of my favorite books.

I have had an interest in literature since I was very young, and when I saw this book on the shelf of my school library, I thought it would be fascinating to read a book by a child of ten. I have heard of teens who started writing at fifteen or so (such as S.E. Hinton)
but to think that a child so young go throught the rather dismal process of editing and such was amazing-right? WRONG!! The Diary of Chickabiddy Baby was total and complete plagerism. There were parts of the award winning Walk Two Moons and the much acclaimed Absoloutly Normal Chaos by Sharon Creech, and the hilarious Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret by Judy Blume. The Tricycle Press publishor company who printed this book for the whole world to read must either be blind, or ignorent of Sharon Creech. Theis is a waste of precious time and money. If you want a great book for children 10+, I reccomend THe Wind Singer by William Nicholson.

I'm a story writer okay? I started when I was about 9, I wrote better stories! I'm sorry but I did. The people who published this boook obviously weren't thinking. I know, I know. All you ppl are sayings its a copy, okay I get that. I haven't read Two Moons (or whatever its called, lol) but I'm looking to it . Howeer I have read Are you there GOd its me Magaret? By Judy Blume. Its not that much of a copy but it has the same idea going . Same sort of vibe which can kinda copy it all ya kno? This author tried way to hard, (I DONT CARE IF SHE IS 10 OKAY?!!) and i'm sure no one has that many things happen in there fricking summer. An 11 year old? Right. Most likely an 11 year old girl wouldn't talk like that, wouldn't say those things. Honestly! Geez!! The character ahs a 14 year old vibe when shes 11? Y'all are just like "oo this book was good. I mean common it was written by a 10 year old" screw that. okay? This book is good when u have nothing else to read but its a waste of time and shouldn't of been publisheD! Maybe the mother of the cihld knew the company or something lol. Who knows waht the hell happened. But this book (stunk) .lol. Anyways a waste of my time and urs. Check out the other one by Judy Blume.

I did not like this book at all. First of all, the ten year old girl who writes it writes like she's twenty! Ok, so you're thinking "well MAYBE she's just gifted". Fine. well she should have enough sense to know eleven year old girls don't talk and think like the way "Pru" (HATE THAT NAME) does in the book, if shes SO GIFTED. personally, i think her mom is one of those "i believe my child can" ppl, who does their work for them. ANYWAY, the book was also a copy of one of my all time favorite books, walk two moons, and "are you there god, blah balh balh". This girl is not original at all and i dont know HOW this book got published! :-o

omygod, this was like, the best book ever!!i like TOTALLY appreciate prudences views on everything as shes growing up, and if she were a real person i would totally be friends with her cause shes like, exactly like me, the most popular girl in my grade!!omygod, i think its so, like, totally dumb when people say this book is copying walk two moons, absouloutly normal chaos and are u there god, its me margaret. this book is soooo much better than ANY of those books!!!i would totally reccomend this book to like anyone!!!!all my girlfriends loved it, and my boyfriend loved it!!!and its like written by a TEN YEAR OLD GIRL. omygod that is so like totally amazing!!!she is like TOTALLY a genius!!great book,emma!!
