This book was written by explorers over 200 years ago as they crossed from the known world into unknown territory. The reader is taken along for the ride, and I am finding it an EPIC read. Between these two sources, I feel as though I am Right There with these people as they work their way from the central US all the way to Oregon - and then all they way back again.
It began in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, made its way westward, and passed through the Continental Divide of the Americas to reach the Pacific coast. The Corps of Discovery was a selected group of US Army volunteers under the command of Captain Meriwether Lewis and his close friend Second Lieutenant William Clark.
