This is a wonderful book, I owned it at school, someone borrowed it and never returned it so I tried to get a new one, there were none available, got a used one which was listed as in Very Good condition, it was not, I was disappointed. The book cost me more with shipping than I paid when I bought it originally new.

The simple retelling of the Parable of the Mustard seed is enhanced by the evocative illustrations. Ms Caswell is keenly aware that children can and do mediatate on the unknown and are in awe of the mystery of God. I have used this book with preschoolers for years; they are always attracted to it. It tells the story again (they already are familiar with the scripture) without overtelling it. The pictures are lovely and invite the child to ponder the power of the seed; it doesn't just come from water, soil and sunlight!
