A business case captures the reasoning for initiating a project or task. It is often presented in a well-structured written document, but may also come in the form of a short verbal agreement or presentation. The logic of the business case is that, whenever resources such as money or effort are consumed, they should be in support of a specific business need.

Workflow diagrams on the other hand will display, model, or diagram a whole picture of a product or application . The workflow diagram answers questions such as what is the scope, range, or possibilities of the application or product and what are the ‘what if’ scenarios

Workflow diagrams on the other hand will display, model, or diagram a whole picture of a product or application process. It can show you step-by-step how to accomplish a task. It is an image of what the product or application does as it works toward an end result. It is like a road map showing you where you will end up if you take a particular route. The workflow diagram answers questions such as what is the scope, range, or possibilities of the application or product and what are the ‘what if’ scenarios. Workflow diagrams are great for training and capturing the essential functions of an application or product.
