A combination of classic and contemporary readings, featuring a debate-format section in each chapter.

Every chapter includes a blend of readings―from scholarly and popular sources, long and short readings, and 40 percent new to this edition. About one-fourth of the readings are classics, while the remaining three-fourths are contemporary―each begins with a headnote explaining the significance of the piece and concludes with discussion questions that help students think critically about what they’ve just read. Finally, each chapter includes one “Debate” section, two or more readings exploring the different sides of important issues such as racial profiling, campaign finance reform, the role of PACs in the political process, and the role of the government in the economy.

A combination of classic and contemporary readings, featuring a debate-format section in each chapter. David T. Canon is professor and department chair of political science at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Keramar
I purchased this book for my Political Science class and actually enjoyed the layout and the readings. The price was definitely a plus because they are much more expensive in the University Bookstores.
Vispel
Great collection of sources (both primary and secondary) on a wide variety of debates. Both sides are equally represented and the book is laid out effectively for easy reference.
Nekora
Some wear and tear (softcover), but the price makes it all worth it. Still readable, and that's what matters. Got it just in time for my class.
Ximathewi
I purchased this book for an American Government course and it was in great condition. Note: This is my honest opinion.
Nuadazius
The book looked brand new, with no pencil marks or anything, and it arrived really quickly. If you need this textbook and want it quickly, get it here.
Dddasuk
The book was in perfect condition. The only problem was that I payed for expedited shipping and it arrived on the last day it was promised and I had to rush on my assignment. But I got it done either way :)
