I liked the subject of the four-dimensional curl the best. I have never
seen it used before. It is truly beautiful because it makes Maxwell's
equations take a new meaning for me in my studies. This book stands
out amongst others in this way!

This book is the most thorough study I've ever seen of electromagnetic fields and their power and energy. The concept of "electromagnetic beauty" as the difference between conventional Poynting terms and the author's Alternate terms is fascinating. Am I correct in that the Poynting energy is the energy stored in the fields and the Alternate energy is the energy input? If so, from conservation of energy, does not the volume integral of the "beauty energy" over ALL PROBLEM SPACE equal zero? Also, cannot such an integral be considered a functional for finite element analysis? As discussed in Chapters 4 and 14 of my Wiley IEEE Press book Magnetic Actuators and Sensors, such a functional can be used in finite element analysis of electromagnetic fields. In Chapter 14 of my book, the "four-vector" of the 3 components of magnetic vector potential and the time integral of electric scalar potential is very similar to the four-vector presented in this excellent book by Morgenthaler.
