The goal of Camp Myth is to foster understanding and cooperation across species .

The goal of Camp Myth is to foster understanding and cooperation across species. To this end, campers are encouraged to earn merit badges in groups of three or more. I really liked how the book brought together creatures from across mythology. We’re got Celtic Fae, Greek Cyclops, Japanese Kitsune, Jewish Golems and many other creatures intermingling with each other. Podcast story telling is increasingly gaining prominence, and podiobooks like Camp Myth show just how far the medium can go.

Camp Myth is a children’s book project by Chris Lewis Carter from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. He is working together with Jay Camay and Anne Ballaran to provide cool illustrations. The project is set up to launch a series of Camp Myth books which revolve around the idea of a summer camp. We’ve all been to at least one summer camp, I suppose, but I bet none comes close to Camp Myth. As with any Kickstarter project, they have a goal to reach.

Camp Myth, your name we say with pride, Our haven from the world outside, And when this mountain we descend, All mythic creed we shall defend.

Talk about Camp Myth: Phoenix Watching

Camp Myth is a camp for mythological creatures. It is kind of like the Rick Riordan books only with fae, mermaids, kitsunia, etc instead of demi Gods. This book follows a fae, kitsunia and cyclopes and all the excitement they get into in just two days time.

So I enjoyed this book. It had a fun plot, the characters were great and the pace was good. However, it just ends with a line like, "How often do you get to meet a unicorn?" Don't get wrong it's a great line but not a good ending to the book. While it was an enjoyable book I needed more. I will have to see if there are more books now.

I downloaded this when it was free and wow! What a fantastic surprise! A very fun adventure filled with charming characters, magic, and mythology! I liked all of the characters and really felt like their unique personalities shown though. I enjoyed seeing what kind of predicament they would get themselves into and out of. The world building was top notch and everyone felt very solid. All of the character interaction felt natural and events progressed in an organic way.

I cannot wait to pick up the next "merit badge" book and find out what will happen next!

It was a good novel that had little side stories and it was written in a nice writing style that is easy to read. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because I found that it moved a little slowly, but then again I mostly read fast paced manga so I is probably just me. It had fantasy, action and adventure and I am really looking forward to the next book. I do not read a lot of novels because I usually find then a little slow paced, but this one series that I defiantly look forward to read through. I enjoyed the artwork and I look forward to meeting the characters featured in the artwork in the main series (throughout the story it had occasional pictures with a small paragraph to that told you about the character).

A very fun story, engaging from the start. It is not too complex, young readers will probably relate to the main character when he goes to summer camp, and things don't go quite as expected. Read the first couple of paragraphs and he'll tell you about it.

I chose the book for the cover and the description.
Found the book to be a good little read, nice break from my thrillers.
Great for kids to read and adults too.
Well written just wish there had been more. :)

Simply fantastic book. Both my 9 yr old son and I enjoyed it, and can't wait for more!

Phoenix watching was action-packed and kept us both completely engrossed right up till the end. Chris is a great storyteller, and makes the whole story seem incredibly real.

You'll love this one - trust us!

The Book is only the start of this wonderful journey... Chris Lewis Carter has the RPG Game to go along with this story - so you and your children can have your own adventures into a fantasy world of going to camp with creatures of myth!! Well Done!!
