Freya North is one of my all time favourite authors. Finally, there's Pip's career. The kind of career that only the best of author's could write into a book without making it seem daft and unbelievable.

Freya North is one of my all time favourite authors. I have read every single one of her books at least once and have enjoyed them all. Some of them take a little while to get into but not "Pip".

Cat Fen Pip Freya North. This novel is entirely a work of fiction. Oily limbs a-plenty,’ connived her eldest sister Pip, suddenly cartwheeling into view. Cat tried to look indignant but then grinned. The Tour de France is the world’s most gruelling sporting event,’ she said defensively, hands on hips, to her audience.

Freya North (born November 21 1967) is a British author. One of the precursors of Chick lit, her books have been critical and financial successes. Top agent Jonathan Lloyd at Curtis Brown Ltd put the novel into a 5 publisher bidding war which resulted in a three book deal for a six-figure sum. "Sally" was published in 1996.

Talk about Pip

I loved Pip. I loved her, and I could see her.
Sometimes Freya North may have a few issues with character development, but this book was not the case. This was Freya North at her best.
The plot was fun, the characters sweet, there was growth, understanding, steamy romance, a bit of drama, peeps on Pip's sisters, and so much fun.
I wanted to learn more about Pip as I read about Fen and Cat, and the wait was worth it.
This is a good example of chick lit, where characters are flawed, but there's growth; where mistakes are made, and efforts have to be done to make up for faults. Pip is great, and every character's issues are understandable and well resolved. The only thing I couldn't really come to terms with was the exwife; who's that nice? But I'll let it go. Because Pip made me like Pip so much, I can let go of small tidbits.

Freya North is one of my all time favourite authors. I have read every single one of her books at least once and have enjoyed them all. Some of them take a little while to get into but not "Pip". "Pip" throws you straight into the action, introducing you to the major characters and immediately pointing out everyone's quirks.

Alongside the three sisters, Pip, Fen and Cat, there's Django. I really think Django deserves a book to himself. He is such a well drawn character who fits in well with the sisters. I like how the author writes not only from Pip's point of view but also from the main male's viewpoint. The life between Zac, his ex and his child is nearly as interesting as Pip's.

As always, the plot is well thought out and structured. The writing flows almost effortless from one page to the next and you are drawn into a sort of trance between reality and the world which North has created.

Finally, there's Pip's career. The kind of career that only the best of author's could write into a book without making it seem daft and unbelievable.

5/5 Stars, a must read (I have done twice).
