I could write pages for this one but I'll try to keep things brief here. Bluebear is a fascinating tale of a fascinating creature in a fascinating land, and we follow alongside him in an Oddysey-esque way, seeing his trials and tribulations of 13 and a half of his 27 lives. It's very wacky and certain children will love it. Especially those with a large vocabulary. All in all, a wild ride but one that should be sampled first because it's just so many. I will say it's never in a purely "lol random XD" that plagues young adult fiction and media right now.

This book is hilarious. Love love love love love it. Loved it as a kid, love it as an adult. Anyone can read it and get something out of it. I have read reviews where this book was bashed for not having a plot. Sure, it can be considered a little plotless overall (the individual lives definitely have plot), but the point of it is to enjoy the complete and utter nonsense that the author is a master of.

This was an excellent book. I was looking for a whimsical light hearted book that would take my mind off stresses at the end of the day. And it did just that. There is adventure and humor and plenty of detail! Some parts had a bit too much detail for my liking making me rather sleep then read the millions of names he lists off but that's another reason I actually love it.

I read this book with my 7th grader. We enjoyed it very much. He took the related AR test and scored 26 out of 28. It’s a fun read and opened up his interest in reading much more then I was expecting. I miss the character already!

This is one of my favorite books! I have read a bunch of the Zamonia series and I even have Captain Bluebear in German. This is a wonderfully fun and exciting story and I recommend it for high school and up.

This book was recommended to me by a German friend who grew up reading it. I could not put it down! There is constantly a new adventure and more excitement on every page. As a college student the novel was complex enough to keep my attention and simple enough to restore my childlike wonder (similar to harry potter). Highly recommend.

Not an easy ready, a bit dry and slow moving plot.
I bought this for my wife. She says it is "well written and very enjoyable." From her that is high praise. My wife usually gets her books from the library. After reading another work by the author, she asked me to buy this one for her. High praise indeed!
