A #1 New York Times Bestselling Author

Like the lovely Vermont inn she managed, B. J. Clark was charming and old-fashioned. And she had no intention of allowing the new owner, hotel tycoon Taylor Reynolds, to modernize her beloved inn and destroy its uniqueness. Taylor lived a fast-paced, high-tech sophisticated life. But his fascination with this innocent enchantress made him long to live in B. J.'s arms from this day until forever.

Pedaling down the maple lined drive, quicksilver temper ebbed, her resilient spirits were lifted with the beauty of the day. The valley was stirring with life. Small clusters of fragile violets and red clover dotted the rolling meadows. Lines of fresh laundry waved in the early breeze.

Pedaling down the maple lined drive, quicksilver temper ebbed, her resilient spirits were lifted with the beauty of the day. The boundary of mountains was topped by a winter’s coat, not yet the soft, lush green it would be in a month’s time, but patched with stark black trees and the intermittent color of pines. Clouds scudded thin and white across the sky, chased by the teasing wind which whispered of spring and fresh blossoms.

The day had not run smoothly, perhaps that was why she had been so acutely annoyed over such a small thing. And so rude, she added to herself. Decidedly, it was her responsibility to offer the olive branch. Third from the corner. They alighted from opposite sides of the car, but Taylor took her arm as they swung through Betty Jackson’s gate. decided, thinking of the silver blue Mercedes and Taylor’s elegantly simple silk shirt, should keep Miss Jackson in news for six months. The doorbell was answered before it had stopped ringing. Hello, Miss Jackson, . began and prepared to launch into her first thank you speech.

One day, he’s going to catch you, and you’re going to draw a blank. Life’s a series of risks, she returned flippantly. Better to accept its challenges. Reaching over, he tucked a stray lock behind her ear, and she jerked away from his touch, unexpectedly shy. For the most part, he drew the words out with infuriating emphasis, I believe you do. It should make things very interesting.

Unfortunately this is probably the worst book by Nora Roberts I have yet read. Typically I love all of the books she writes and particularly enjoy her characters and the colorful lives she paints for them. This book had our hero, Taylor, as a wealthy man who owns several hotels.

Do NOT buy this book if you're expecting new content by Nora Roberts. This is a new hardcover print of a 1983 Harlequin Romance novel. I was so surprised when I got the book and read the first few pages because it just sounded so familiar for some reason. Then I checked the copyright information....Even from just a few pages you can tell how much Nora Roberts' style and writing has evolved.

So annoyed! This is NOT a new release. It is from 1983. I would not have purchased if I had known. Not worth the money. The characters are cringe-worthy. The female character has about as much backbone as a wet Kleenex. Save your money.

This was short, predictable, and outdated. I was disappointed with it, and can only think this is one of Nora Roberts earlier works.

Back in the day a condescending strong male was the thing. But this story hasn't aged well. At least for me, Taylor is too domineering and BJ is too wimpy to be brutally likeable characters. This is still Nora but not one of my favorites.

Very disappointed in that this book was written in 1983 and offered as "new". As you might expect the style and story line are so out of date as to be laughable. I really love the work of Nora Roberts that is Today...these Silhouette / Harlequins are just sappy and irrelevant to today's mores.

Not as absorbing as Nora Roberts' usual fare. I had no problem putting this book down, and returning to read it later.

The antagonist in this story was truly antagonistic--to the point of being abusive. I don't see how any woman could fall in love with him! One minute he was berating her, and in the next breath, he was kissing her. He didn't bother to court her--he just announced that she was his any time he wanted her. Yet, any time he kissed her, the protagonist would swoon and act like she couldn't resist him. He treated her like a possession he acquired rather than a woman he loved.
I love Nora Roberts & JD Robb books, but this one was hard to swallow. Most of the time it helped lull me to sleep. The main male character is condescending and the whole situation is borderline workplace sexual harassment. Needless to say, it's actually disappointing when the supposedly strong female character falls in love with him within days of meeting him. WTH. When in any normal circumstances does that actually happen? He treats her terribly one second and is all handsy the next. It's quite creepy when He falls for her when he had mistaken her for a child. I was cringing while he tells her that she looks so young, but he can't resist. Just ew. It's ridiculous and disappointing on so many levels.
