Strategically it was a strong enough hardsite, with easily defendable perimeters and plenty of unobstructed view from the farmhouse. This was not going to be easy. The sixteen of them charging up the dusty driveway leading to the farmhouse could be picked clean by a twelve-year-old with a slingshot. Trying to bluff their way in with a broken-down-car story would not work either: these people had tried most such ploys during their own careers as terrorists. Tanya tapped Bolan on the shoulder and pointed her gun where he wanted him to go.

Mack Bolan #46 was written by Ray Obstfeld, released in October, 1982. To date
Ray has written only 4 books in the Executioner series: 46 Bloodsport, 57 Flesh Wounds, 74 Savannah Swingsaw, and 93 The Fire Eaters. This book is generally viewed by the majority of Mack Bolan fans as a 'fair' to better than 'fair' read.

Back in U.S. Army duds Mack Bolan poses as a sergeant with his mission in Germany working as an undercover against a terrorist group. Some readers feel the book is light on action except for the fight between Bolan and Rudi. Stony Man: Hal, April, and Jack Grimaldi are pretty much only on the sidelines providing back up to Mack. Bolan's trademark AutoMag and Beretta are also pretty much absent in this story. The terrorist gang with some exception is mostly cardboard cutouts providing not much more than targets to the 'big guy'.

As with most of these early GOLD EAGLE books in the Bolan saga, this one is pretty straight forward with notable undercover work from Bolan, and a good solid ending. Cover artwork by classic artist Gil Cohen pretty good too, and notice that this cover is one of very few not sporting some type of firearm.
