Zane Grey. WoW! Now there's a real writer, magnificent with pen and prose. Even if a modern author can match his genius, they can never meet his era which provides much of his charm and appeal as an author. We are fortunate today to be able to read his full works, not the whittled down hack pieces his publishers would put out. This goes for all of his works but "Rogue River Feud" touches the heart like few others. In this story, there is redemption and restoration through the love of an amazing woman. What a wonderful tale that leaves the reader just a little sad and envious that their time has passed, never giving us the hope of ever walking in their footsteps.

I have read every Gray novel I have been able to find, and I have loved every one.
This novel was a very different from my previous experiences. A happy ending with much less violence. I always find U can experience the romance of the West thru Zane Grays colorful descriptions of the beauty of the surrounding countryside. A story of a man returning from war, broken and lost. Brought back to health in mind and body by the love of a strong woman.
Enjoyed the read!

Expecting a typical Zane Grey western, this one was anything but typical... and it leaves me with a very strong desire to go fishing in the rivers of Oregon! It's a great book and I highly recommend it.

which is described in copious, romantic detail. Instead of cattle rustlers, there are salmon interceptors. Beginning with the dark homecoming of a WWI veteran, the story evolves into a bright tale of nature's redemption.

This is a great old fashioned adventure that's as good as it gets. The story takes a different look at the old west than we're used to, but has all the excitement as any story so far.
This place is the wild and untamed Rogue river wilderness as it was just after world war one.
A time before pollution had scarred the environment and people still believed in the possible achievement of community and nature. A time when good things can happen to good people.
