Dialogues with the Devil. This is not a theological book, though it adheres to the Judeo-Christian traditions and to Holy Scripture, and to the traditions and tales of ancient as well as modern religions.

I discovered Taylor Caldwell in junior high and have read at least half of her books. If I could only take 10 books with me to a desert island, this would be one of them. Taylor says in the introduction of Dialogues that she had two beings take over and write the book using her skills. Today we would know this as automatic writing. Also, this is not the first time I've heard of the planet Melina mentioned in Dialogues, I've read it in some new age books, though I can't remember which one, Diane Cannon?

I like philosophic reads and this is rather an easy one. Still, it's interesting. Archangels, including Satan, are not human, and see things from a different perspective. This set of letters looks at Good and Evil and God from the point of view of these nonhumans who have a different relationship with God and Sin. It was a fun read even though the matters under discussion were matters of life, death, and souls.

Taylor Caldwell writes this kind of book very well.

We get to hear Lucifer's side of the story. This story format is in the form of letters between Lucifer and Archangel Michael. Lucifer lays out his point of view on why he fell from heaven and does the evil things that he does. Michael tries to convince him to come home and give up his wicked ways.
I read this book about 30 years ago when I was in college. I was fascinated back then, but it is not an easy book to find. When I saw it on Amazon, I was so excited and bought 3. This was written by Taylor Caldwell early in her career before all the romance novels.

Without a doubt, one of my most favorite books. I read it for the first time over 30 years ago and have re-read it frequently. I read my first copy so much that it fell apart and I had to buy it again!! it was the first time that I could understand some of the whys of evil vs good.

This book is so much more that what the title says, its a journey between love and hate, God, Angels, Brothers, father and son all mixed with the universe and human kind, its not a religious book its more like a philosophical aspect of good vs evil.

I read this book when I was in high school. The book has always peeked my interest. But somewhere along the way I lost the book and never went searching for it. Now that I am retired. Conversations take on different meanings. People ask different questions. One being religion. I remember certain topics about the book, but because it has been so long ago; I have lost a lot of its content. Now that I have read it again; it seems too have a different meaning. Not quite as I remember in high school. I am sure that is because I am much more skeptical. It still makes you challenge your faith and gives you different insight into religion. Be prepared to have a dictionary next to you. There are many words that require some interpretation and meaning. Still I found the book interesting.

I read this book in spanish a few years ago and it took me by surprise. Since that copy was borrowed to me I went on to look for my own copy. Needeless to say it was a difficult task. When I finally got to this edition I didn't hesitated I just bought it. And it blow me away again. My english skills are good but boy I had to get the dictionary near me. Some of the lines and the plot were not quite as I remembered them (not having the original with me, hard to say if it was bad memory or bad translation). This is one of my favorites, easy to read gives us the oportunity to look at the devil and ourselves in a different light.

It was worth my money and is one of my most treasured books. Please note that as this is no longer on print, it will get more difficult to get a new copy. And I now of few who would give up theirs as easy.

I first read this book in high school as a paperback. It was fascinating, and very enlightening. The conversations between the Almighty through the Archangel Michael and Lucifer are fascinating and give you some insight into the nature of evil.
It is a must-read for anyone trying to understand the nature of evil and how it relates to God.
Amazing work of literature! I could clearly "see" Lucifer and Michael arguing about the salvation of human race. I say again: WOW!!!!!!!
