I listened to this as an unabridged audio book. With Fern Michaels, I expect a small-town-romance type story. I was not prepared for the rape or the sexual and physical abuse in this one. The narrator did a good job.

I enjoyed this book. It wasn't anything "heavy" nor was it a "can't wait to get back to it" story. The characters were a little superficial so I didn't care what happened to them. Hmmm...maybe I should have given this a two-star. No, I think I'll save the two-star for the book I started to read, "Fancy Dancer". More on that in another review. If you are looking for some light reading to wind down for the day or something to read while on vacation, check this out.

I don't know why, but every so often, Fern Michaels seems to think she needs to write a "Historical Romance" and I hate them.

I have read everything she has published and normally I would recommend her but not in this case.
I loved the Sister Hood Series most and like the Godmother Series too. These are her best

I wish she would just tell us in advance that this is her "Historical Romance" so I could avoid wasting my time and money on this.
Please, Fern, write what you do best! This is at the bottom of my list.

I am sorry but this book fell short of what I expected from this author. I normally love her work but I struggled to get through this one. I have never felt compelled to write a review before but I thought I owed it to the readers out there to pass this one by. It was much too long with a lot of boring filler and loose ends throughout....The love story wasn't believable and the characters in it was just bland. Very disappointed that I took the time to finish thinking it would get better.

It took me time to get I to the story but it was good. What people will do to fulfill a dream is surprising

These books I have taken on my cruises to read while vacationing. Get's you from beginning. The prices to buy a slighted used book is incredible. Am I going to buy new ones for just my vacations but also my home? Heck yeah! Best thing since sliced bread!!

As usual, Fern Michaels makes the story leap off the pages.
I enjoyed the book, I thought I had read it. The heart aches that they both went thru to find happiness.
There hasn't been a Fern Michaels that I haven't enjoyed.
