A saga of romantic adventure in which Claude Sanguinet makes a last desperate bid to kill the Prince Regent

Sanguinet's Crown, . The author and publisher have provided this e-book to you for your personal use only.

Sanguinet's Crown, . FOR LELIA, who has waited with such delightful impatience for this book. The Royal Pavilion at Brighton is impressive today and must have been even more so when occupied by the dashing gentlemen and lovely ladies of Prince George’s Regency.

The mare soared upwards in a beautiful leap, neighed with fear, and landed in a scramble that would have been disastrous had it not been for the consummate skill of her rider. He was up in a second, heedless of his muddied britches as he checked on his mare. Whisper was sweating and trembling violently, but she did not appear to have taken any injury.

Sanguinet's Crown book. Harry– Claude S. is on the move at last  . I've read all her series, and they are all fabulous reads (some better than others, of course). They are adventure, regency or georgian romance books. But not the ridiculous "bodice-ripping" trashy, romance novels.

Harry– Claude S. Meet me at Strand Hall near Horsham, in Sussex  . It is this urgent message that brings together all the major characters from Patricia Veryan's previous Regency novels in the Sanguinet Saga for the most thrilling adventure yet. The year is 1817, and Claude Sanguinet is restless again. His past machinations include an unsuccessful plot to overthrow the British government by kidnapping the Prince Regent.

Sanguinet Saga SeriesPatricia Veryan. Sanguinet's Crown is a very funny novel. The quick wit that both Charity and Mitchell have lends a nice blend of humor to the book. You can not help but love the quick light plot.

Sanguinet's Crown (1986). But when Claude Sanguinet puts his wicked plot into motion once again, Mr. Redmond must play Charity's erstwhile savior. About book: "'T'S ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW. I Will not walk in terror of monsieur sanguinet forever". Talk about Sanguinet's Crown

This is my favorite Veryan novel! The characters, the dialogue, the history, the adventure... love it. This is my favorite series of Veryan's as well.

Veryan has a special way of developing characters, plot, and adventure, all while layering in a bit of humor to make you smile. Also, It is so refreshing to have a light romance that is not saturated in sex! Veryan is able to create tension between the protagonists, and bring them together without having to put them in bed together. Chemistry at its finest!

I recommend anything by Veryan if you are looking for a light and fun read.
It is a great follow up to her other books in the Sanguinet series. It was very well written, plenty of action but it all moved the plot along. The character development was excellent and all were interesting and the hero was multi faceted.
Anything by Patricia Veryan is always worth reading.
Enjoyed very much
Perhaps I am just too hard to please, but I much prefer Georgette Heyer books. It is probably unfair to compare other authors to her. She has set the standard and it is hard to follow her, but this is a nice book of the genre.
I don't give 5* reviews for novels very often, but I just reread this book once again and it is still one of my favorite books of all time. Besides being a wonderful romance it is also a good story with humor, villains, action, suspense and triumph. I've long thought it would make a great movie.
These characters, Mitchell and Charity, have passion and a deep love which is shown by character development and scenes with them. So many writers today cannot do this and so substitute cheap sex scenes or a lot of explaining for real relationships.
Although this is book 8 of the 11 books in the Sanguinet Saga series, it is the real conclusion to the story. (Go to Veryan's unofficial website for more info) You don't have to read the entire series to understand this book; it does stand alone. But I would strongly suggest that you at least read the two that show the background of the hero and heroine, and some of the Sanguinet story: Cloudhills for Charity and especially Nanette for Mitchell. The rest of the books tell what happened to the other characters -and sometimes Mitchell, Charity, and all their children do appear in them.
My only criticism of the book is that I wanted more of it! Wish there were more romance writers of this caliber today. Highly recommended. Enjoy.
This is, quite simply, superb entertainment. Charity Strand, a lady of little beauty but lots of intelligence and personality, must help Mitchell Redmond save England from certain disaster. As they gallop on a forced march from Scotland to Brighton, riding against the clock to save the life of the Prince Regent, the two slowly fall in love. The romance is sweet and believable, and the adventure definitely adds to it rather than being superfluous subplot. Patricia Veryan has crafted an absolutely wonderful tale of love and intrigue. Highly recommended for all lovers of Regency romance.
This is IMO the best of Veryan's novels -- and that's saying something! She brings back many beloved characters to give the Sanguinet Saga a superb, breath-taking, action-packed, at times laugh-out-loud-funny finish. Charity and Mitchell are a wonderful match, and the growth of their relationship is handled beautifully. Having gotten to know these characters, and the pain in their pasts, through previous novels just makes their romance all the sweeter. I can't begin to count the number of times I've read it. I can open it to any page and immediately be entranced. FIND THIS BOOK!!!
