The term Great American Novel (GAN) refers to a canonical novel that is thought to have captured the spirit of American life. These novels are generally written by Americans and deal in some way with the question of America's national character. The Great American Novel is sometimes considered America's equivalent of the national epic. There is no consensus on which novel or novels deserve to be called the Great American Novel

I would also recommend Bill Bryson's book The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid, which is autobiographical.

I love the 50's. It was fun to read all about the culture, history, entertainment, etc. from this time period. Has some great photos as well. I got it used for a really good price. A fun one to have in my collection.

A time machine in a Hardcover book! Times back then looked way more appealing to me than they do today.

I was strictly looking for certain photographic content for a specific project. I had hoped there would be more photos of everyday life rather than events in that era
Great book with excellent material of the 50's. Gave as a gift and recipient loved it.
