The Newark Museum of Art (formerly known as the Newark Museum), in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, United States, is the state's largest museum. It holds major collections of American art, decorative arts, contemporary art, and arts of Asia, Africa, the Americas, and the ancient world.

THE Newark Museum's decorative arts collection began in 1911 with a Persian antelope tile donated by Dr. . Henry Chapman Mercer, a ceramist of rare and eccentric accomplishment whose home and pottery works, along with the remarkable museum he founded in Doylestown, P. are open to the public. Mr. Dietz is also the author of ''The Newark Museum Collection of American Art Pottery,'' a comprehensive catalogue printed in conjuction with the museum's landmark 1984-85 exhibition, and on Thursday he will speak on the subject at the George School in Newtown, Pa.

In 2015, the Newark Museum opened its redesigned Lore Ross Jewelry Gallery, with over 150 pieces of jewelry dating . Ulysses Grant Dietz is chief curator and curator of decorative arts at the Newark Museum, New Jersey.
