Talk about Modern Carpentry

I used this book in an adult ed course I took 40 years ago. After 15 classes at night, I built a 3 room addition on my house.
I bought this updated copy for my granddaughter's husband as I didn't want to give up my copy as I still use it to refresh my memory when I start a new project.
I have never worked in construction, but I could build an entire house with this book!
Shazel
I’ve only read the first chapter and gained a wealth of knowledge. I believe you can build a house from the ground up by following along this book
Azago
This textbook is easy to understand. One could build a house from the ground-up, if so inclined. I had the book since 1968, but lost it recently; and, as such, I was happy to be able to replace it through AMAZON. Excellent for professionals as well as the handyman.
If one wants to just: repair a roof or build a porch: it's all there!
Axebourne
I recently got the task of designing a decently sized structure. Although I had done carpentry projects for many years, I soon learned there were a lot of practical things about building design I didn't know. This book is the very best I found at our local library to answer the questions I had. I liked it so much I had to order one for my own library. Highly recommended.

Someone bought this particular edition years ago when I first entered the building industry. It was an invaluable tool for me then but unfortunately I lost it when my home burned down and I decided to re-purchase it and add it to my personal library because it has proven to be such a helpful tool.

This is usually the textbook for apprenticeship programs. It has been used for over 30 years as the go to text for carpentry.
fabscf
Husband says this is the perfect reference book for carpenters.
This is paired to the Modern Carpentry text book.
