Humorous drawings are combined with nearly one hundred and fifty amazing and amusing stories about the world of sports

The stories were definitely strange and also true; hence, the book lived up to its billing. This book was huge for me coming up. I read it over and over. Even today I still bump up against the stories that I first learned about here in SBTSS.

The stories were definitely strange and also true; hence, the book lived up to its billing. The stories were constantly amusing, and taught me new and interesting facts about sports and athletes with which I would otherwise not be familiar.

My son, now 43, remembered this book from a Christmas when he was 8. He still plays ice hockey, and Is known as the expert on obscure rules and history of the game because of this book. He was lamenting the fact that it was lost in his last move, so I go him another copy. " Best thing in my stocking!" was his comment all these years later.

I loved this book as a child and it's been fun to revisit!
Malodor
I loved this book when I was a kid. It was B-day gift for my 9 year nephew. He loves it
Negal
Book is in great shape and I'm sure my son will love this as much as I did. So excited that I found this

Book I received was dirty, old, worn out and I was not able to give as a gift. Nothing like the picture here. They refused a return the day I received it, saying time had run out. ? There is no policy posted on the page for returns. I would never recommend this seller since they won't accept a return for their misrepresentation of the product.

What a nostalgia kick. My uncle's girlfriend bought this as a present for me one day when I helped her move some small furniture. I think I was 10. Lost my copy during a move in college and have been looking for it without luck ever since. I must have read the original a couple dozen times. Now I am sharing it with my 9 year old.

As someone else said, I loved the writing as well as the illustrations and the oddball stories. Made me more of a sports fan back then. Strongly recommend, though I suspect most people buying it will be remembering their childhood.

This book was huge for me coming up. I read it over and over. Even today I still bump up against the stories that I first learned about here in SBTSS.
This book introduced me to many sports that my environment never did. I was probably 10 when I read it and I learned stories about golf, tennis, and others sports that were not played by anyone where I lived. The stories are short and were offered in big print with a funny drawing. I probably read it 20 times! Buy this for your young sports fan!
