They know a successful card counter when they see one. If Oliver was at all apt, he wouldn’t have lasted long at all at Barona. Yet another reason why his problems are with his own blackjack game, not card counting as a science

They know a successful card counter when they see one. Yet another reason why his problems are with his own blackjack game, not card counting as a science. Sorry Oliver, but you’re like a gunman with horrible aim claiming that guns can’t kill people. Oliver claims he invented the double up theory, where you double your bet after you lose a bet, as to win back your original money and always end up even or on top. This is actually called a progressive bet spread or Martingale Bet System, and it’s as old as gambling

Playing blackjack well (counting cards) is far more mechanical.

Playing blackjack well (counting cards) is far more mechanical. It requires you to memorize the correct plays for all the possible hands, be able to count, estimate remaining decks, and do arithmetic (divide, multiply) on the fly while appearing not to. You play against the house, and the house follows fixed rules - everything is entirely predictable.

Portions of this book have previously appeared in different fonn in Blackjack Forum magazine, 1984-96. The book is also dedicated to the memory of three dear blackjack-playing friends: Lester White, Joel Waller, and Paul Keen, whom I miss very much. I was hoping the raves of this guy's "wealth" of experience would give me some insights into the world of card counting and blackjack. Come to find out this guy can't even fill up twenty full pages of the book that is already paper-thin. Seriously read the excerpt and that is pretty much the format for the entire book. Not to mention all of his statistics... oh wait yeah he didn't have any. All you have to go on is his word, which doesn't seem to be worth much. Just save your money....

Winning money by Counting Cards takes A LOT of practice and discipline. If you want to read a REAL book about card counting you should get "The Greatest Blackjack Book Ever" (yeah the one Allan was reading in "The Hangover") or "Blackjack For Blood."

This guy knows NOTHING about playing a winning game, and now is peddling this tripe in books and on television to make a buck to recover some of his losses. This book is complete trash. Save your money and look elsewhere, just please PLEASE don't buy into this losing gambler's crap. This guy is pathetic.

It is the worst book I've read in my entire life and I don't esitate to define it a fraud. The 40 pages are written only in one side (so 20 pages are really written) and talk about NOTHING of blackjack. His argument are absolute nonsense and there are no numbers, no statistic, no strategies, nothing at all. I wish I could have my money back. PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!

What an utter fool, this person is. Read real books that are backed by mathematics and real world experience. There are plenty out there written by intelligent authors, not gamblers like this guy.

This author has no clue about basic probability and money odds.
The book is truly less than worthless.
If the material were not helpful, that would be worthless.
I consider it "less than worthless" because anyone who actually believes what is presented, will have "learned" things which simply are not true.
Don't waste your money.

This guy didn't need to make any money playing cards; he is laughing all the way to the bank now. I forked over 6.99 for the privilege of reading his poorly written series of half-page essays, and I learned only that the author thinks very highly of himself.

This was probably the worst book I've ever read. Contains sentences that could have been written by a 12-year old and like stated earlier, every other page is empty (which might be a blessing). There's zero math (obviously) and only shallow assumptions that are not based on any facts.

The book was a hilarious joke, though. Sadly, the author might have made some money with this ripoff.
Paper thin book that teaches you nothing.... what a waste. Save your money and put it to something useful. This book might be 10 pages long. Ridiculous
