Livingston, John Henry was born on May 30, 1746 in near Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. A Dissertation on the Marriage of a Man with His Sister-in-Law, 1816. Son of Henry and Susanna (Conklin) Livingston. Graduated from Yale, 1762, U. Utrecht, 1770. Theology General Synod of Dutch Reformed Church, 1784-1825, thus establishing 1st theological seminary in the United States. Largely responsible for resolving conflict over sovereignty between American and Dutch factions in Reformed Church. President Queen’s College (now Rutgers University), 1810-1825.
