I stayed up reading this book which is the 2nd to her "The Seduction of His Wife" (my very favorite book that had lots of humor as well) until I could finally get it completed... Very cute and entertaining as well! Not that it isn't as good as the first, you just know how special the first one is you read, it is just different. Nice always to hear of Alex, Paul and that ornery dad of theirs again, Grady (one mischievous fellow). Personally, I hope Janet Chapman adds to this line in her books, the author is so wonderful and easy to read. I so enjoy this imaginative family as if you had a birds eye view, and were possibly a critter yourself in the home of Anna's. I don't want to ruin this for anyone but it is a good one folks! Don't miss out.

The writing style in this book is ok, however, I am not a fan of romances where the women "feel loved because their man constantly proves that he considers them incompetent because of their gender." I did find it amusing that the author tried to imply, through short scenes from the man's perspective, that the man believes in competent women. Sadly, these scenes are immediately followed by the man either thinking exactly the opposite, or acting exactly the opposite of the preceding scene. In addition, there are dozens of scenes where the woman goes on and on about her ideals for men which make it clear sh wants to be disrespected. There are also quite a few scenes that act this type of disrespect out as if it is sexy...

Yes, I did make myself read the entire book. I definitely won't be reading any more books by this author, though.

Strong woman turns into wimp.
Man overbearing, arrogant, sexist jerk.

Anna being the foreman was a big part of the plot yet Ethan fired her for something anyone else would have gotten away with, at most, a reprimand. She barely raises a fuss and she still keeps seeing him and letting him use her. I hate books like this where the tough, independent woman turns into a doormat.

Inconsistencies. EX: Anna could hear a whispered conversation from over 300 feet? Not unless she has Superman ears.

Why didn't Paul's get his own book? His story was covered in a few pages. I'm not sure if this is the end of this particular series or not. I like Janet Chapman but this book just didn't do it for me. A 3 is kind.

I've come to love this author. This book was thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. It is a sequel to the first book about the Knight brothers. I love Chapman's writing style. I find it intelligent, and well thought out. And she tends to make the story revolve around the romance, but also provides a well rounded storyline to hold it all together. The romance is hot, without being raunchy. I highly recommend this book.

AWESOME books by Janet Chapman, so far this series has had about 15 to 20 books haven't counted all of them as of yet but love stories about time travelers and the love they find in our "Modern" world... this is part of a set of books that lead into her books about "SpellBound Falls" Love them all so far...

I can never put down a Janet Chapman novel. I find myself totally enraptured in the storyline and just can't stop reading till I get to the always-satisfying end. Any of Janet's books are fantastic, but the ones that touch on time travel and magic are fantastic. Try one - you'll like it!

I am having a hard time putting the book down and getting on with my daily chores. Find I keep going back to it. Ms. Chapman is right up there with the other great writers. Chapter to chapter keeps you entertained. An easy read but not looking forward to it to end. My first Janet Chapman book, but certainly not my last. Thank you for a fun read!
Really great story of a man thought dead and the proxy bride that he falls for. It was typical Chapman fun watching this hard stubborn man try to be a softy.
