Talk about Valentino's Love-Child

This story really touched my heart. This was not just another book where the heroine got pregnant. Both Tino, and Faith shared a hot and passionate relationship. Tino had no idea until later on in the story that Faith was his son's art teacher. Giosue stole my heart, he was just so cute. He played his hand in match making. He invited over his teacher for dinner to meet his father. His mother had died when he was a little boy. He wanted his father to marry again so he could have a mom. Faith was also close friends with Tino's mother. The two would have coffee together often. Tino knew his son had invited over his teacher. When he opened the door, he was shocked to see his lover standing on the porch. He was more shocked to find out she also knew his mother.
faith had lost her husband when he died in a car wreck. she also lost the baby she was pregnant with. Everyone she had ever loved, had died. She let her emotions shine through the art she made. She was a very talented artist, and well known. Even tho she may never be able to have a child of her own, she loved teaching art to the small kids. She loved all the kids, and they loved her back. Faith had worked through her grief, and was a happy person. It touched me, that she was able to help Tino through the grief of losing his first wife. I loved this story. It held so many emotions. This book will go onto my list of favorite books, and will be read again late on.
I was really on the fence on whether or not I should buy this one given some of the reviews made the hero sound atrocious. In my opinion he was one of the sweetest heros ever. He literally spent half of the book trying to get the heroine back! He made a promise to his wife when she died and lived by it for years. It's completely understandable that letting go of that promise was going to be hard and likely not happen overnight. Unlike many heros at no time did he act like her feelings did not matter. He felt like he couldn't give her what she wanted.

Finding out she was pregnant gave him the abilty to release himself of the promise he had made to his wife with a reasonably good conscious. Also, in some reviews much was made from his stance that if it becomes vital to his son that he marry, he wanted to mary a Sicilian woman. This was not from some sort of malicious feeling toward non-Sicilians. It was about feeling that he should try to raise his son as closely as he could to the way hife wife would have if she hadn't died. People make these kind of choices all of the time. My parents are devout Catholics. Had one died, there is no way the other would have married someone outside of the Church. They would have felt that was a betrayal of the kind of home they wanted to create for their children.

This was a fantastic book! Don't be put off by the bad reviews.
Through all the doubt for her with keeping his death promise to his deceased wife this love story carries so many different elements that happens in a relationship, I like the way she knew his mother and son before she met him. The lake contestant faith she had about her life and it's losses. But the good part is their conversations and his mother"s and sons love for her that made this story whatnot is. Great kudos to Ms. Monroe.????
Light out of Fildon
Oh, I loved this one. I love how Valentino had to step up and be a man after skulking around all secretive-like for so long. I wasn't so pleased with his mother's nosiness, though. I understand it was a plot device, but it seemed totally out of character for her. I thought the heroine should have been allowed to announce her pregnancy in her own time, and not be forced into it by a friend who should have known better.
A big fan of Lucy Monroe books in Harlequin and she didn't disappoint me in the slightest in this one. Well developed plot and nearly broke my heart of the struggles both main characters had to struggle in their lives before finding each other. Well done.
Romantic, easy reading keeps you reading from the first page to the last! A story of hope after grief giving you the feeling that even after the worst of times there is always light in the future, if you only allow yourself to believe!!
It's great book!!!!!!!!!!
I love Lucy Monroe books and this one is just as good as the others. Her people are real and her stories ring true. This is another great book, we'll worth the price.
