Eccentric neighbor, loyal friend, and totally innocent tease, impish Elissa Dean was exactly what Kingston Roper needed-to get him out of a romantic bind, that is. His sister-in-law's intentions were anything but sisterly, and King had to produce a make-believe lover to run interference. Sweet Elissa fit the bill nicely.

Paperback, Silhouette Desire 187 pages. Published May 1987 by Silhouette. It has been a long time since I've read anything by Diana Palmer and I had "Fit for a King" on my shelf, so I decided to give it a try. I really wish I hadn't. 0373053495 (ISBN13: 9780373053490). There was absolutely no character development, the plot was almost nonexistent, and I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out what the point of the book was except for some fairly graphic sexual content.

Not my favorite Diana Palmer, but it was ok. One thing that is really getting to me with Diana Palmers stories is that she creates a character that is a snide, nasty b*tch or a weak, stupid adulteress and you just hate the character. Then Palmer brings the nasty character back up in subsequent books and evolves them into a "likeable" character. Unfortunately, I am still feeling a bit of hate for the character, but now I'm supposed to like her? As a reader, I find the nasty character hasn't earned my kind regard between stories :). This was one of those books. I felt like the stupid sister in law was a selfish heifer. What more can I say? Haha

Need a good teary romance from Diana Palmer? She perfected a formula for heart-retching romance: The alpha male cowboy is conflicted about age, money, or history and fights the attraction to the young virgin.

This story, however, did not meet her usual standard. The conflict was far off the mark and "Spoiler" centers on the hero's attraction to his sister-in-law. The heroine is supposed to play gf to ward this woman off -- I am okay with that -- but the hero continues to flirt and coddle this hot sister-in-law. Too gross!

Diana Palmer is one of my favorite authors. I can get lost in one if her books within the first page. Her characters are always believable, sometimes I would like to reach not the pages and give them each a good shake now and then. But she always brings them to heel eventually.

I have always been a fan of Diana Palmer. Unfortunately I haven't been able to read all of her books. But working on that. This book like every book of Diana Palmers. Is always a very good read. I love to hate most of the men half way through her books. I feel deep sympathy for the women.

I truly love Diana Palmer books.. Her books are romantic, sad and happy at te same tie, but every story is different and atlike at the same time. This book is all about true love is a little different from others because he doesn't hide what he feels but being cruel to her. He hurts her because he doesn't know how he really feels and does things without realizing that he hurts her..love all her books.

Loved this story. The path that took for them each to fall in love was lovely. Wished it would be ended with the birth so we would know what they would have.
A delightful story. As usual Ms Palmer has created a great plot. I enjoyed the characters, from the hero and heroine to the wacky parrot to loving eccentric parents. The story flows well, and descriptive scenes are real.. Phyllis
