presented at the symposium on Low Latitude Aeronomical Processes, held in Bangalore, India in May and June 1979. Low Latitude Aeronomical Processes: Proceedings of a Symposium of the Twenty-Second Plenary Meeting of COSPA, Bangalore, India, 29 May to 9 June 1979.

Low Latitude Aeronomical Processes contains the papers presented at the symposium on Low Latitude Aeronomical Processes, held in Bangalore, India in May and June 1979. The conference focuses on the discussion and exchange of scientific studies on low latitude aeronomy, of which India is one of the main practitioners.

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) is the single international organization of the world’s professional astronomers. Its mission to promote astronomy and serve as a coordinating body for international activity has evolved over the 90 years of the IAU’s existence.

X-ray interferometry mission in space is under consideration (MAXIM), and X-ray fringes have been detected in the laboratory. But radio interferomery is far more advanced, and lots more should be done before an X-ray inter-ferometry mission becomes possible. We hope that we can re-alize this mission to go further to prove exotic phenomena like strong general relativistic eects around super-massive black holes, and so on. The VSOP-2 proposal was submitted to ISAS in October 2003, at the same time as the hard X-ray mission NeXT.
