General Qualifications Governing the Analytical Theory.

In fact, the totality of summarized treatments of the flow of homogeneous fluids in porous media given heretofore in book form consists in single chapters devoted to the subject in "Hydraulik" by Ph. Forchheimer and " Wasserbauliche Stromungslehre" by P. Nemenyi, and the recently published book " (1936) by R. Dachler. The published papers of most other earlier investigators of the problems of fluid flow^through porous media have dealt with experimental studies, in particular the relation of the permeability to the grain structure of a porous medium. General Qualifications Governing the Analytical Theory.

However, fluid flow in homogeneous porous media is generally faster than that of heterogeneous media of similar geometry and grain packing

However, fluid flow in homogeneous porous media is generally faster than that of heterogeneous media of similar geometry and grain packing. The permeability to fluid is also affected by the presence of micron-scale heterogeneity (. lamina) where varying intrinsic permeability value the degree of heterogeneity affects the average permeability of the domain (Alabi, 2011). These scenarios are important in the choice of geosequestration sites as they affect storage capacity of the aquifer and can influence the risks of leakage.
