I purchased this textbook to go along with my course MAT1033/Intermediate Algebra. Let me just say that math has not been my best subject so I have learned and fully make use of the concept "practice makes perfect". This is an excellent textbook and was the perfect supplement for my course. I passed that class with an A though it wasn't a cake walk. I felt that the examples, the layout, and basically all of the information contained helped tremendously. I now primarily use this textbook as a reference. Very pleased with my purchase obviously. My shipment came in time for my course and I am very thankful to the seller and to Amazon for providing this textbook for such a great price. I paid about $30 for this I believe, it was a while back but about that. Highly recommend!!!

It is a math book for my college classes. But I really enjoy their textbooks and I believe it is because they hardly skip over steps and don't assume you know the entire pathway to get to the answer. Math classes in high school lacked a lot of care for the topic & the students where I went. So, to deal with a "scary" subject with this text alongside enthusiastic math professors is wonderful and I do indeed understand math and was just missing a few bits of information to help things run better.

If you're wanting to study on your own and looking for a book I recommend this one alongside Khan Academy & PatrickJMT for guidance if you can't afford to go to a tutor/class. But there is A LOT of resources online that can help you get over your fears of math, that you probably don't need a book..but I really do rec. this :)

I had to get this book for my brother's summer class. As I ordered this book, it was a quick delivery as they said. The book was in a good condition and it seems like it was not used that much, so practically kind of a new book. I asked my brother about the Beginning and Intermediate Algebra and his response was that "it’s easy for him to understand the material in class with the book in hands". In other words he likes it. So with his response, I highly recommend this book to whoever needs it.

Edited review... Original Book came with a section of pages detached from the book. The whole glued binding detached from the book. Completely raggedy. Had to return and reorder another one. Ordered another one and it was worse than the first, but at least it was a fraction of the cost of the original raggedy one. I'm embarrassed to open my book in class! Pictures are of the second one.

I got this book very quickly but I was unhappy because it says it comes with mathzone. I needed the mathzone for my class assignments. Customer service was very nice, They quickly sent me another book but, that one didn't have the mathzone in it either-so the description is very misleading-if you do not require mathzone it's a good copy to get but if you do need it for class assignment -look for another one- I ran out of time before the semester started so I had to buy the mathzone separately from the mathzone site and ended up spending almost the same amount as I would have in a college bookstore. They were Speedy but I was very disappointed about the product

This is a classic example of a math book written by a doctorate that isn't considering a beginning level of comprehension. If I had not had an instructor to interpret it, it would have been nearly useless to me.
Book is great overall. I think my personal experience made it 4 stars because the professor continuously taught differently than the explanations in the book, which made it difficult to study at home. Only issue with the actual book was that I felt there could have been more explanation or maybe an answer key for some of the given examples at the beginning of the chapters. (Just a thought)
