Advances in Heterocyclic Chemistry.

The chapter presents a fascinating array of complex sequences which provide efficient routes to a wide variety of heterocyclic systems. The second chapter is the twelfth in the series on the organic chemistry of heterocyclic ligands in metallic complexes. The present contribution deals with the chemistry of polypyridine ligands in organomanganese and organorhenium complexes. Advances in Heterocyclic Chemistry.

Preface It is now 13 years since the appearance of Volume 1 of Advances in Heterocyclic Chemistry, and significant progress in many of the subjects covered in the early volumes of the series has been made since publication. We have therefore embarked on the policy of updating appropriate chapters, and three of the articles in the present volume are of this type.

Advances in Heterocyclic Chemistry (ADV HETEROCYCL CHEM). The chemistry of the aza analogs of pyrimidine bases represents a part of the chemistry of the corresponding heterocyclic (triazine) group. The nomenclature of aza analogs is discussed in the chapter. The tautomerism of compounds with five-membered rings and two or more heteroatoms is more complex than that which occurs when only one heteroatom is present.
