As manager (and a violist) of the Oliver, Indiana, Civic Symphony, Joan Spencer has her hands overflowing. The orchestra is rehearsing to play at a prestigious quilt show when elderly Edna Ellett dies, and Joan's prickly daughter Rebecca unexpectedly comes home.Joan hasn't seen or heard from her twenty-year-old daughter for months: both women still grieve the early death of Joan's husband and Rebecca's father. Though Rebecca appears fine, Joan suspects she is troubled, and she braces herself for conflict.Meanwhile, members of Edna Ellett's family search like vultures for the will. On the eve of the quilt show one of them is murdered, and Joan discovers the body underneath a quilt. With the small town of Oliver in a tizzy, Joan joins police officer Fred Lundquist to investigate a mystery with roots - and stitches - deep in history.Humorous and cozy, with each chapter named for a quilt pattern, Sara Frommer's novel will delight musicians, mystery lovers, and anyone who enjoys the art of quilting.

It was a good read and interesting I am a quilter and have been in quilt shows and know the care taken in the displaying of them.

A delightful mystery, enhanced by excellent and accurate descriptive material about small town life, the the inner workings of community orchestras and the quilting community
Mr.Bean
This was an excellent mystery. I enjoyed reading it on my computer's Kindle app. The main character is a musician in an orchestra, but there was a quilt show, lots of quilts, and the author seemed very knowledgeable about quilting.
showtime
It may not be great literature (whatever that is) but I enjoyed the plot, the writing, the characters. I had started with a later book in the series and am going back to previous ones. I want to read more so I hope there are more books to come
Hallolan
I like this series. This one was no exception.
Even though a murder has to thicken the plot,
there is good development of character and
I like the musical references as well as quilting
terminology.

I hope to be able to read more by this author. It was a good read and interesting I am a quilter and have been in quilt shows and know the care taken in the displaying of them.
GEL
The whole series is on my reading list. They are clever, interesting characters, and while each book more or less resolves itself, you are left anxious to find the next one
Konetav
Interesting characters make this mystery easy to read. Amazon needs to offer the rest of the series for Kindle. dnf
Characters very believable. Would like to get to know them again in another novel.
I could really relate to the people and their interactions with eachother.
