Talk about Traitor

I was expecting much better. Hadn't realized how old this book was. I found myself loosing interest in the last half of the book which is never a good comment to make for a mystery.
Lt Col Reynolds the protagonist keeps stating he is slow on the uptake, well he is slower than me which makes the first half of the novel difficult to continue reading. The depth of characters is generally good, but often too broad. The last one third of the novel seems to have received the vast majority of the fine tuning (editing) and it often has pizzazz. In conclusion the novel is uneven and unless you are a fan of Ralph Peters not recommended.
Not at all remarkable for this author. He is able to crank out spectacular fiction of all stripes and do it with style and attention seizing interest. Col. Peters is a fellow I would like to split a remainder of a bottle fine single malt with, and not have to say a word.
My greatest salute.
He maybe the best author of this genre.
This is my first read of on of Ralph Peters' novels. I found the main character less than capable and the story line left me flat and a bit defeated. I was hoping for a triumph for good in the end but settled for the cold reality of inside the Beltway shuffle that is too realistic of Washington today. Some characters were not fully developed and there was not a connection to any with the exception of the main antagonist, who wins in the end, and knew he would not lose at the expense of anyone or anything.
Outstanding! ralph Peters is one writer I have followed since he started writing. Too bad the Army does not want genius in it's ranks.
There are many in the Military who represent the main Hero of this fast paced novel. When viewing the top brass one can only hope the top NCOs , as they have traditionally done, can keep the Military show on the road until a man of character can be installed as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
Fun mystery with a message. I have read most of the Peters and Parry books. This one is a bit below his standard. Plot is OK but a stretch. Witty allusions ( a sell-out Senator names Faust) inject misplaced humor. A near-miss by Peters is a home run for most authors in this genre.
Definitely not a professional writer. Over-the-top plot line and characters that proved to be not very interesting or believable.
