In this delightful book, Dr. Seuss introduces the youngest children to the concept of sight and seeing, looking at a range of everyday things from colours and cutlery to socks and underpants! This title belongs to Dr. Seuss's Bright and Early Beginner Book series, designed especially for "Beginning Beginners" -- preschool children on the threshhold of learning to read. Using an exuberant combination of bright, bold pictures and rhythmic rhyme, Dr. Seuss introduces simple stories and concepts, adding a large helping of zany humour to help the youngest child make the all important connection between word and picture. Originally published under the pseudonym of Theo. LeSieg, The Eye Book is being relaunched with a stylish new cover design which reveals, for the first time, the true identity of the author -- Dr. Seuss himself!

The new illustrations by Joe Mathieu really work well.

Teaching Tip: This book contains rhyming words, therefore it could be used as a hook in a rhyming lesson in Kindergarten. The teacher could then pull out the rhyming words and let the students generate other words that rhyme. Dr. Seuss/Theo Le Sieg rhyming for young kids at its very best. The new illustrations by Joe Mathieu really work well.

Vintage 1960s hardcover children's book has some shelf wear. There is some corner and edge wear, including some noticeable edge dings and cover tanning & staining. The pages are tanned, but crisp, and they are without any tears.

Talk about The Eye Book

MeGa_NunC
This series of books is one of our LO's favorite. He'll cycle through handing me the Eye Book, Nose Book and the Ear Book and stay engaged through the whole thing. Fun book to read with your LO. I plan to add the Foot Book soon as well as others.

My great nephew loved it. Just like my grandchildren did. It makes it easy for kids to point and learn to say a word. I'm sure I'll buy more of this particular book, as another niece is expecting, and I wouldn't want her to be without it when she starts reading to the baby.
Daizil
Great little book! Perfect for bedtime reading and compact enough to travel with. We've been reading this book to our daughter since she was under 1. She's almost 2.5 now and still loves it.
Landarn
Fun book for 1.5 y/o. She enjoys the rhyme and repetition. Minus one star for "pink eye, pink eye." There are so many better adjectives that could have been used!!

So cute. Giving to my daughters optometrist as a gift.
Tekasa
Product arrived in less than ideal shape. Luckily was purchasing for myself and not as a gift.

My 3 year old granddaughter has to have this book read to her everyday at naptime. She can "read" it word for word all by herself! Doesn't miss a word.
This is one of Dr. Seuss's best for very young children. It is fun to read, and will surely make you giggle, especially when you see the pink underpants! The pictures are cute and we always pause to talk about them. There are few words and soon your toddler will have them memorized, and be reading along with you. The kids and I highly recommend this book.

We also recommend "Jamberry" by Bruce Degen and "There's a Wocket in my Pocket" by Dr. Seuss.s
