Today Feminist theology’s establishment has been revised into three stages: stage one being tied to Mary Daly’s ‘The Church and the Second Sex’ 1968, which shows the beginnings of noticing and documenting patriarchal overtones in tradition. Feminist theologians helped revise these methods of thinking within Christianity and it is because of this that Christians are now able to view women closer to being the equals of men, yet collectively women still only own 1% of the world’s wealth, and 75% of the world’s impoverished are female. Practical theology and feminist hermeneutics of Denise Ackermann. Denise Ackermann is a professor and theologian at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa with an affiliation with the Anglican Church. Having born witness to the historical transformation of South Africa from the apartheid era through to the present with an eye on the behavior of the Christian churches, Ackermann’s practical theology praxis is an ethnographic description, interpretation, and normative prognosis of the lived religions of her time. Ackermann identifies key terms of feminist liberation theology, noting that in fact there is no single feminist theology (Ackermann 1993e).
