Louisa May Alcott is the only author who remains both popular and literary today. Louisa May Alcott (November 29, 1832 – March 6, 1888) was an American novelist and poet best known as the author of the novel Little Women (1868) and its sequels Little Men (1871) and Jo's Boys (1886). Raised by her transcendentalist parents, Abigail May and Amos Bronson Alcott in New England, she also grew up among many of the well-known intellectuals.

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was an American novelist. She is best known for the novel Little Women, published in 1868. Due to her familys poverty, she began work at an early age as an occasional teacher, seamstress, governess, domestic helper, and writer - her first book was Flower Fables (1854). As she grew older, she developed as both an abolitionist and a feminist. A Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was an American novelist.
