SOFT COVER

There are plenty of poop/pee/fart books for this age range (and I now own several), but for the scientifically inquisitive child these are the best I've found.

Goodman. 2015 Blue Stem Nominee Award Winner). 2015 Blue Stem Nominee Award Winner) and that is poop! Of course this may seem silly but I honestly found this book very informative. The book talks about the different species from animals like rabbits to bugs like the crab spider and how they poop.

The Truth About Poop is a book by Susan E. Goodman and illustrated by Elwood H. Smith. The book has chapters about the nature of excrement, its production, varieties, uses in love, war, sports, the development of flushing toilets, toilet paper, and urban waste reclamation.

by Susan E. Declaring that it’s time take poop out of the closet, Goodman plops factual pellets from human and natural history alike into topical chapters covering dung’s nature; production; varieties; uses in love, war, and, yes, sports; the development of flushing toilets (pointedly scrubbing the myth that Thomas Crapper was solely responsible); toilet paper; and urban waste reclamation. Smith takes on the subject with appropriate lack of gravity, adding lots of small, pop-eyed animals and people amid flushes of comic-strip dingbats.

It is listed as a book for ages 9 and up and, while it no doubt would appeal to even younger readers (thanks to the ageless zaniness of Elwood Smith's humorous illustrations), it will definitely be a hit with older kids, right on up to full-blown adults of any ag. he book is filled with oddball facts about animals.

"The Truth About Poop" & "Gee Whiz! It's all About Pee"

First I bought "The Truth About Poop" for my almost-six-year-old boy. He LOVES it. He wants me to read it to him all the time. I followed up the purchase with "Gee Whiz! It's all About Pee" and it's another hit!

Since my little guy is almost six, I'm doing most of the reading, for now, but there are parts of the book that he can can "help" me read. Those parts will get bigger as his reading improves. The text and pictures are great, and there's plenty of trivia that's news to me.

I think all boys (and many girls) this age have a fascination with bodily functions. My kid also has a love of learning, science and "how things work" (me and his mom were both like that as kids). There are plenty of poop/pee/fart books for this age range (and I now own several), but for the scientifically inquisitive child these are the best I've found. The other books on these subjects provided some entertainment and amusement, but these are the two that he keeps asking for again and again.

Well...with sons ages 16-38, plus grandsons 6-10, have found they absolutely love these types of books!!! Have even seen our daughter and young granddaughters picking it up every once in a while - funny, facts about well..."poop" - ha!! Good book - especially for young to teenage boys. We have been very happy with the book, plus the service we received.

It seems that all small children love anything that discusses their body's functions, especially if that function involves unpleasant smells. We now have their interest when discussing almost any biological function that applies to our grandchildren..

Got this as a gift for a friend who's a new parent. And got myself a copy too. Sweet.
Only quibble is that the Amazon packaging was a bit lacking. The book was packed without any padding, along with a bunch of other books. I opened the box with a key and ended up cutting a bit of the cover.
