Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase. I've read 100s of Mills and Boon books and this is one that I like to read over and over again. The book is fast paced and I lost myself in the story line and the way Michelle describes the setting, I can easily imagine it. I have recommended this book to several friends and they have enjoied it too. I now bought the ebook version for the Kindle so that I can read the book again on holiday.

Talk about The Man Who Risked it All (Mills Boon Hardback Romance)

I guess we're all different, but there was something about this book that I loved. I won't go into the plot, but suffice it to say that there was just something about this storyline that moved me. I think it was probably due to the fact that everyone else in the story seemed to be against them being a couple.

Aside from the H cheating, which was after she left him, it was a great book. I'd rather he had been celibate but you can't have everything, right? Personally, that only ever proves to me that the H never really loved the h. If he can go smex someone else within a matter of months, how great was his love? Not very. And there isn't much of any reason I'd have believed from him.

Otherwise, I recommend this one. I re-read it a lot and put it in my top 5 MR offerings.
This is one book that I have re-read several times and still enjoy it. It seems that Franco'S friends had told him lies about Lexi. He still married her cause she was expecting. But it ended when she lost the child. Now after a high speed boating accident he wants her back. But will he tell her why? And what happens when she finds out everything? Will she want him back!
I was pleasantly surprised that the author managed to breathe some new life into quite standard HP plot devices.

While not entirely unique, it was a bit different that the hero was relatively young when he and the heroine first got together. It wasn't a classic case of a significantly older, ostensibly mature (so often they aren't emotionally mature no matter their age) billionaire snapping up a complete innocent, having her flounder among his rarefied social/business circles, and then run off due to some realization on her part that he wasn't what she'd thought. That their relationship wasn't what she'd believed.

Spoilers ahead.

At its core, this story is about 2 young people who cross paths amid a jet-set social whirl that is full of spoiled, mean-spirited people who toy with other people's feelings and lives for sport. Franco was part of that rich, spoiled group but while he was immature and largely out for a good time, he didn't seem to have the vicious mean streak of some of the others. Sadly, Lexi was the naive target of their manipulations.

Where the drama really began, though, is that they began to develop real and deep feelings, even as the context within their relationship was occurring was simultaneously sowing the seeds of doubt, jealousy and possible betrayal - and, ultimately, therefore, their destruction.

Franco's dear friend, Marco, and his venomous sister Claudia manipulated and staged situations that were engineered to rip them apart.

Franco had already realized he needed to get Lexi back when the accident happened and he drew Lexi back to him. What I liked was that he didn't try to hide the fact that he was playing on her guilt and lingering feelings to ensure she came to his side and remained there. It was also refreshing to have Lexi take on some of the responsibility for how terribly things had gone between them. She wasn't simply a victim, but nor would she just roll over for Franco.

Each had wanted a different outcome the first time around, but didn't realize the other did, too. They were reacting to false beliefs fomented by others and didn't have the maturity to see past the hurt and dig for the real truth.

I believed in their happy ending and that they deserved it. The love had been real, and now they had the emotional wherewithal to embrace it and take care of it so that it could last a lifetime.
Franco never stopped loving Lexie and determind to make their marriage work. He does everything he can to bring them together again. Three years earlier their friends worked against them. Now they get the opportunity to work thru the issues to rekindle their marriage.

Loved this story , the characters were a balanced mix.
Recommend the author and the book.
another wonderful story by MR, i keep rereading her books . i would like to have seen the H grovel some more. it is really a wonderful book that i highly recommend .
This was another good and angsty love story by Michelle Reid. If you like books by this author than you will love this one too. It has everything you want in her books including the high drama.
The feelings and thoughts of the main characters were very revealing and thoroughly believable. It's one of the few I've read where both sides admit to mistakes and take blame for the problems in their relationship. I highly recommend this story and this author.
not well written
