American Army investigator Walter Wolff searches for a former Nazi officer, who disappeared with a fortune of gold coins

Wren handed me a sheaf of documents.

Konstanze was not a leading Nazi but she was the wife of one of them and, if what I had been told was true, this beautiful woman held the key to a sensational and politically important recovery. Wren handed me a sheaf of documents. Sure enough, the signature on the bottom of each sheet was General Eisenhower’s, a bold, flowing hand, in fountain-pen ink.

I very much enjoyed this book. It was totally different from any Nazi related book I have read previously. It had a lot of depth - art history, music history, and geography it was a book I wanted to go on and not end. Great job.

Peter Watson was educated at the universities of Durham, London and Rome, and was awarded scholarships in Italy and the United States. He wrote the daily Diary column of the London Times before becoming that paper’s New York correspondent.

Inspired by real events involving one of the Monuments Men, The Nazi’s Wife is an outstanding story featuring exceptionally good writing (The Daily Telegraph). Thriller & Crime Espionage.

The Nazi's Wife - Peter Watson. Konstanze was not a leading Nazi but she was the wife of one of them and, if what I had been told was true, this beautiful woman held the key to a sensational and politically important recovery. Spittle would not put me off. Calmly-one might almost say phlegmatically-I took out a handkerchief and wiped myself dry.

Hard to put down, even for a break or sleep. One of the best reads ever for me. So much anticipation and the description of the surroundings made me feel as if I were there and looking at the churches, mountains, lakes, rivers and towns. A great ending as well.

I can easily state that this novel is remarkable. The author truly knows how to capture the reader's interest and then slow ensnare you in his story. The descriptions of the events are so detailed that you believe that you are experiencing everything along with the characters. Definitely one to read and not miss.

This was very hard to put down, extremely well written. The characters are so well developed you fell like you are listening to Walter, you feel as he does, the emotions, the pain, and the love is real. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. The author is to be commended for his excellent.

Would never have guessed this would be a love story from the title when I began this book. Was almost hoping for a different outcome. Living in Germany for so many years and being stationed in southern Bavaria brought back so many memories of this region that will remain with me forever. This region is among the most beautiful of any that I have ever visited in my life. This author left me wanting a different outcome but knowing it could never happen.
Freaky Hook
I enjoyed this book very much, an unusual story line with believable characters, set in an interesting time, just after the end of the second world war, in Germany. The author's descriptive detail adds to the atmosphere. A good read.

An interesting twist on an oft told subject. In parts, it was woefully dragged out and other parts not enough. Overall, the author told a good story about one man's quest for truth. A good read for those interested in post war Germany.

An amazing story and memoir of the love of a woman who can never marry by the Army lieutenant that loves the woman but cannot have her. The characters are richly portraited and the reader comes to be inside their minds. Great story of postwar Europe!!
