the intended audience is the intermediate-level student. Yet I find that many students with several years of yeshiva behind them still strugle with the vocalization, to the point where it distracts them from the concept(s) being discussed. Aside from this, the entire series is a welcome contribution to the study of Rashi, a commentator who often makes what at first appears to be 'obvious' statements regarding the text, but which after some thought (proded here by author Boncheck) makes us realize we either made incorrect assumptions about the text or missed some subtle anomaly in the grammar or flow of narrative. Recommended.

We often think we understand and discover on closer reading that we do not. Avigdor Bonchek has probed deeply into the commentary of Rashi, has raised important questions, and made an effort to provide the appropriate answers. For a person like myself who never learned 'Chumash with Rashi' as a child, and needs to learn fundamental things this commentary is a big help. My sense is it would also be of great help to those who know and understand much more than myself.
