This is a story of Claire Carson, a lady who hosts a popular show on tv. She anchors a segment on the show describing some fallen stars of country music who disappeared after some memorable melodies. Trace walker is one such country star that she describes on the shop and how he has disappeared since a tragic and mysterious death of his young wife. Claire does not realize that after his disappearance Trace has become a very sucessful financial investor and he is not happy to see his past broadcasted on tv. He confronts Claire and ends up buying the tv station make Claire's life miserable. But soon both of them discover their mutual attraction for each other and are conflicted about their feelings. Trace needs to deal with his past to truly fall in love and Claire has an important job opportunity to fulfill her ambitions and she is conflicted to give it up for a man who says he cannot fall in love. This is a pleasant romance which makes you feel all is right in the world. I finished this in a day , a simple read. I recommend it.

I was thoroughly impressed with this short and sweet love story... so much power packed into this little story... Never read Debra Webb before but you can bet your bottom I will from now on!! the characters were lovable and funny... something every story needs. even though there wasn't a lot of hot hot sex, it was pulled off in a way that made you want to come back for more. Trace was for sure a total alpha... but Claire was holding her own also... there were some grammatical and wording errors.. But all in all a great book... 4 stars!!

Trace Walker and Claire Carson are two of the sweetest characters I've met. There is just something so wholesome about the two of them. The young Trace Walker can be the romance novels' equivalent of Justin Beiber.

I would also like to iterate how much I enjoyed the story. It's short, sweet and to the point. Great editing too! So, why did I give it only 4 stars?

***SPOILER ALERT ***

It's because Trace's epiphany fell short in terms of drama. The story is about Trace, with Claire as his love interest and the catalyst for the cataclysmic change on Trace. When it happened, it tidied up a lot of things on the plot and also caught all the loose ends. And thus making it a nice read. But the emotional release I was expecting was not there. 3/4 of the book is a great read. The denouement is a nice read, hence the 4 star rating.

I have always loved Debra Webb and this is my first time reading a contemporary by her, it had conflict between the two central characters and was resolved in the end.
I will not forget about her contemporarys' along with her Romantic Suspense.
2/. I really enjoyed the story but do real cowboys wear earrings and are they not more rugged looking? Sorry i am just a old fashioned woman.

I enjoyed the concept of the book. Debra Webb is an author that I turn to for a consistently, enjoyable read. However, this book felt like Debra Webb lite. An intensity and depth is missing. The plot of Tempting Trace is classic, literally. Tragic male figure must take a journey of self awareness before he can move forward

It was not too bad, although the cover really sucked. He looks like a fireman with the yellow jacket and funny hat. It does not look like a cowboy hat on the cover.
It is a little far fetched that someone will buy a station just not to have a story run on them, no matter how rich you are.
But I suppose it wasn't totally unreadable.

I love Debra Webb's stories, after reading "here to stay" and "keeping kennedy", i got hooked, but this wasn't just it. The plot of the novel is good, but it doesn't have enough flesh to work with, maybe it's cos of its short length.
Bottom line: It's not up to Debra's standard, but you can read to pass the time in absence of nothing solid.
This didn't take long to read but was a quick break from the every day business of life. Of course everything works out in the end, but who doesn't love a good romance novel that isn't all about sex?
