Mom’s Family is the calendar that you can’t live without. This 17-month planner-meets-calendar is abetted by an inimitable cast of quirky Boynton characters—those frantic chickens, noble elephants, confused ducks, and spiffy piggies. Every page features an ingenious vertical grid with five columns across the top (one for each family member) and the days of the month running down the left-hand side. There is plenty of room to write in each person’s daily activities, so it’s easy to see who’s doing what with just a glance. And if that’s not enough, there’s a drop-down storage pocket, 500 full-color stickers, and a write-on, wipe-off magnetic phone list to hang on the fridge.

The original family organizing calendar is a superstar multitasker, just like Mom herself! The jolliest. More than 70 million of her books have been sold, "mostly to friends and family," she says. She has also written (with Michael Ford) and produced six albums of renegade children's music. Three of her albums have been certified Gold (over 500,000 copies sold), and Philadelphia Chickens, nominated for a Grammy, has gone Platinum (over 1 million copies sold).

Mom’s Family Calendar is the 17-month calendar that not only keeps pace with Supermom, but does it with inimitable style and panache. Because what says panache like Sandra Boynton’s befuddled pigs and cool cats?) The roomy grids are arranged vertically, with 5 columns across the top–one for each member of the family–and days of the month running down the left-hand side. The planner-like format makes it easy for Mom and Dad to keep track of what everyone in the family is doing, when. It’s the perfect balance of no-nonsense organization and rhino in a hammock.

We are a small, but active, family and this calendar is very helpful! I religiously buy one every year. I love the format - there is a column for mom and then four more columns (total of 5) you can customize. We are a family of three but have three pets, so each human has a column, there is one for the pets (I track their vet app'ts there as well as their monthly flea/tick etc and b'days), and then I use the last one for Reminders (general family things to know like house cleaners coming or relatives' b'days, etc).

It's a year and a half calendar, but I buy it annually. So that part isn't a selling feature to me. But if it's valuable to other families I guess I'm glad they make it that way.

Stickers are cute but we always forget to use them. Sometimes when I take it down to do big updates (like at the start of a soccer season I add all the practices and games) my 6 year old joins me and he has a great time decorating dates.

I do use the important numbers sheet. It's stuck to the side of our fridge and has everything a sitter needs on it.

I use the pocket as well. If I get a sports schedule hard copy I add the dates to the calendar and stick the hard copy in the pocket. Nice to have the original in case there are questions or if I need to take it with me. I do have to use a paperclip to clip the papers in the pocket to the back sheet of the calendar or else the tend to fall forward and out (the pocket is shallow) as we get towards the second half of the year and there are less sheets to hold the papers in place.

Everyone knows to look at the calendar. If it's on there, it's booked. We update our electronic calendars from it and it's nice to have something tangible as the main source.

Overall - I really love this calendar. It's very useful and it's perfect for my family. It's also really durable (good quality paper - not flimsy at all! Really stands up to my constant updating). I haven't found any others that work as well. it's also fun to look at - Sandra Boynton's designs are very cute. I recommend this to any family!!!

I just ordered the new 2013 calendar -- the year on this calendar starts with the new school year (August through December of next year). This calendar resides in the kitchen - on the inside of the broom closet ALWAYS. There is a column for each person and a line for each day (with plenty of room for notes) - so I always remember the recitals, sporting events, and dentist appointments. I check it weekly on Sundays so I can juggle my work schedule or find someone else to help transport kids to their events or tutoring sessions. I even give myself deadlines to buy a black skirt for chorale or a plane ticket for fall break. I live off lists - or things just fall between the cracks in my brain.

It has a little cardboard pocket in the back - the joke is for 'spare' $100 bills. right. I put appointment card reminders from the doctors and dentists in there so I always have thei phone number handy and know when to schedule dental checkups or other appointments.

It's family friendly design, stickers for the lazy writers (I can always get one of the girls to put stickers on the appointment and birthdays even if they cannot write! Try it, I bet you'll love it as much as I do. This is the same price as you'll find at costco or other discount sources and at Amazon, no tax!

When you have a multiple person / pet household, this calendar is practically a necessity! It keeps all of our meetings, appointments, school functions, vet visits, birthday parties, etc. from being missed or double-booked. We don't miss special dates now with this calendar hanging in our kitchen. One quick glance clearly shows if there is anything important coming up during the month for anyone in our home. I love the feature of writing the names of family members in and that each person is provided their own space for writing important things on their space for every day of the year! The stickers draw attention and are a fun addition. There is also a magnetic emergency contact card included for on the refrigerator with places for doctor, dentist, school, etc. In a moment when you don't want to have to go searching for an important phone number, having them all in one convenient, prominent and central location in our home is a great tool to have. I order one of these calendars the beginning of every school season.

Once I bought my first "Mom's Family Calendar" in 2005, I was hooked! The calendar has 5 columns for tracking multiple schedules - it's an easy and organized way to keep track of who is doing what and when. Great for both busy or forgetful parents :-) It also has 2 sheets of small stickers and cute characters that you can place on important days (label stickers include birthday, vacation, no school, doctor, travel, game, 1/2 day, sleepover, library, haircut, field trip, vet, etc). It also comes with a magnetic card, "Mom's Family Phone List" to write down important numbers and place on your refrigerator.

I don't even bother looking at other calendars any more. Every year, I order this one.
