Suggestions for practical uses of the copperplate hand accompany detailed instruction for the use of a flexible, pointed pen in learning this calligraphic style which is a descendant of Italic

This is a book I once owned. I couldn't find it in my house. As I have been teaching an increasing number of courses on "Copperplate" calligraphy recently, I seriously missed having what I consider the best manual I've seen at hand to show students, &c. So I've bought another copy.

This is a book I once owned. Sadly, it seems to be out of print. Yes, I know there are dozens - maybe hundreds - of other books out these days, by people with big followings, and such. But I still find this small, straightforward book presenting a single flexible pointed-pen script to be extremely useful.

So many "copybooks" are simply things for you to... copy. This book, however, takes you from square one and I think that is important... so many people who would like to acquire this skill do not have the background to jump in with both feet and they become frustrated, soon to abandon the project. This little book is for you, the person who wants to start and actually get somewhere with the skill. Also there is no requirement for a special pen, although it is recommended in the description of materials on p.6 If you need a book to start with, I think this is the one.

Not enough room to really practice. Not like a workbook which is what I was expecting. Hard to follow.

Amazon is asking me to review this excellent book. I have owned it before, which is why I have ordered it again. But it hasn't arrived. Amazon has not asked me to review their efficiency in fulfilling orders. Pity.
