Canada, Africa, and some other parts of the world. Learning ASL allows you to communicate with any of these people, in any situation. You’ll be able to reach out and connect with people who are deaf and hard of hearing either socially or professionally.

It covers linguistic, cultural, and educational topics.

I really have not found this helpful as a previous ASL student and now a mom teaching baby ASL. I intended to use this as a cheat sheet for my husband to use to get familiar with COMMON ASL signs and the alphabet. Yes, this has the alphabet, but other than that, only has things like the days of the week, the months, numbers, and colors. No hello, please, thank you, sorry, common items or verbs,tc. This is only useful for stressing certain tips for using ASL and details about the structure. Very very few signs other than the ones I mentioned above. No hello, please, thank you, sorry, common items or verbs, etc. This won't help my husband at all and I honestly wouldn't have found this helpful when taking ASL years ago. It is all information you will discuss in class. The signs are what you need to study and that a reference sheet would be useful for. Really disappointed and wish I could send it back.
Once you get the basics of sign language, it's pretty useless. Things that I need (and those around me agree) reminders going forward are not covered on this sheet. So save your money if you are learning sign.
As a deaf person, I would say this is OK for someone who already knows sign or is in need of reminders of rules. But the pictures don't quite show the form because it is 2 dimensional. I ordered it to help my family with sign.
The charts are great for a quick study nefore test. Grandson was in final year of ASL and the quick reference plus flash cards were very helpful.
I ordered this thinking people who never use ASL might be able to pick up a few words to chat with our deaf at church. I'm disappointed. About half of the illustrations are poorly done. The arrows indicating 3-D movement do not show correct directions or full explanation from beginning to end of a sign. I think this is a good study reference if someone has already taught you these first words.
Was expecting some common phrase like my name is or how are you
A simple ASL resource at your fingertips.
It helped me a lot to have this while taking my class. I'm pretty sure I will use it again on the second class. I highly recommend this tool
