Talk about What I Learned from God While Quilting

grand star
A friend loaned me the paperback version of this book. I was excited that each chapter had not only a nice story about quilts, quilting and quilters, but also a prayer, a Bible verse and a devotional thought. The description of the book says, "Each of the fifty-plus chapters includes a true story on a quilt-related theme, followed by "The Quilting Frame" (a spiritual application), "God's Template" (a relevant Scripture), "The Binding Stitch" (a brief prayer), and the "Scrap Bag" (a practical quilting tip). "

The Kindle version includes the "Scrap Bag" but leaves out "The Quilting Frame", God's Template" and "The Binding Stitch". While I enjoy seeing the color photos of quilts shown in this book on my Kindle Fire, I really bought it for those missing parts. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS IF YOU PURCHASE THE KINDLE VERSION.

I purchased this book to use in a program for our church's women's group. Book contains many anecdotes about quilting, relating to life, compassion and history. The stories are short yet very meaningful. I plan to donate this book to our church library when I am done with it.

I have and love the printed version so much that I purchased the kindle version. Unfortunately the notes on "God's Template" & "The Binding Stitch" are not included & they draw the connection between God & quilting. A real disappointment.

This inspirational book contains short, spiritual stories about quilters in relationships with others and the deeply meaningful purposes of quilt making, with scripture, insights to contemplate, and patchwork tips.

Loved It! Nice to know that someone has thought through why we quilt and why we love quilting.

As a new quilter I enjoyed the "scrap bag" tips, as a Christian I enjoyed the applications of God's word in everyday situations. I am passing this around to my quilting friends to read. It deepened my conviction that God is present in ALL activities and loves to get glory by our creative efforts.
It's so easy
The stories are short and easy to read, they have a good Bible based reference. The author manages to tie the story to the biblical reference which makes thought provoking reading. She also gives really practical hints for quilters.

I am going to use this book as a stepping off point for the small home group I attend and help run.
Love this book. I even downloaded the Kindle version.
