It is a collection of selected texts from the work of Byron Katie. I've previously read this author's book "Loving what is" and much appreciated it. It is Katie's view that the world would be transformed for the better, were we all to use the Work - her method of posing ourselves the following four questions whenever we have a problematic thought: 1) Is it true? 2) Can you really know that it is true? 3) How do you react when you believe that thought?

The book started off with a great concept using the four questions but did not follow through in the word play quotes that followed. Hurtful beliefs may be verbally stated but are powered and rendered effective for us but the underlying feelings that power them. The book "addresses" word play but does not address the underlying feelings. We can change our thoughts but if we don't address or change the feeling we empower them with, no change will ever occur. This book was a big disappointment.

I love this book. I am trying to understand all the concepts, I get tremendous peace and inspiration when reading. I have Byron Katie''s other books as well. I have found them to be life giving and happiness promoting.

I enjoyed reading this and can see the value of following the steps of The Work. I look forward to putting it into practice. I had read how The Work had helped several others to become receptive to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Accepting reality is one thing and certainly advisable but this is really off the deep end. Jumble of quotes that I can't seem to connect with - some appear profound but most are confusing or ridiculous. All is good to her - genocide, torture, environmental destruction, cancer, death of your loved ones - it may be reality but that does not make it "good." One of the worst "self help" books that I have ever purchased.

This is Byron Katies work with quotations separated into different topic areas. It is a nice refresher book but better to get one of her other books (Loving What is or I need your love is it true?) first. It has brought up some questions for me since some quotes are taken out of context. I am enjoying the book though, but if you are new to the work, get one that explains the concepts.

Byron Katie's inquiry work saves my life daily. With 56,000 random, recycled, thoughts flowing through "the mind" each day, getting attached and playing out dramas can be enticing. This book is a size that I can carry in my purse and bring out with unexpected periods of waiting show up.
Each reference seems as if it has been written directly for me and about my life experience. I suspect others who read this can make a similar claim. The clarity of each reference flowers and gives me pause. Each tidbit of consciousness resonates deeply into my cells. Katie reminds me on each page that "the mind has no answers and the heart has no questions" a quote by Philip Golabuk, [...].

This is a great, compact version of Byron Katie’s teachings. I would read a paragraph or two and sit with it for a while. As such, this book makes a great daily reader...giving you small, potent doses to ponder throughout the day.
Thank you, Katie, for your wonderful help with our projections.
